Remarks

In a short span of time, IIT Mandi has made a name for itself and is among the top 50 engineering colleges in India. My preference was IIT Mandi because of its placement and education quality for B.Tech plus the college is situated in my hometown and I am properly aware of its popularity in our area. After clearing the JEE I applied for JOSAA counselling and I was allowed a seat in IIT Mandi.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum of the college is good. It follows the case study, simulation activity and quizzes to teach us the concepts. The college provides us with good opportunities for research work. The college helps us to understand all the basic concepts of computer technology and software and coding. The faculty teaches us very simple methods to remember coding techniques.

Internships Opportunities

We are eligible for the internship after completing the 3 years of our program. We can collect the list of the companies from the placement committee and choose the company according to our interests. The average stipend for the internship is around 60k. The internship program helps us to attain professional experiences.

Placement Experience

The college provides good internships and the college has a record of 100% placement. The placement packages for B.Tech students are also good. The college placement committee plays a very crucial role in the college placement process. We have to register our names with the placement committee to take part in the placement drive of the college. The highest package for our batch was around 35 LPA and the average package was around 12 LPA. Approx 65+ companies participated in the college placement drive.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarships on a merit basis. The college provides scholarships for SC/ST/PWD. The college provides scholarships through more than 5+ schemes. To know more about the college scholarship program and the eligibility one can visit the college official website. The state-funded and central government-funded scholarship is also available.

Campus Life

The campus is located around beautiful mountains and the view around is very scenic. The campus life of the college is very good and very friendly. The seniors and the administrative staff is very cooperative and friendly. Competition like debate, quiz, dance and music is organised by the college. The college library is big and many books academics and non-academic books are available. The college infrastructure is well maintained and classrooms are big and properly ventilated.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel rooms are big and the ventilation is good. The hotel infrastructure is properly maintained. The rooms are cleaned 5 days a week. The hostel mess food quality is good and food is cooked in a very hygenic space. The hostel provides us with 24 hours of power supply and water supply. During winter hot water is supplied. The hostel is equipped with all kinds of basic and modern facilities for us.

Faculty

The faculty of the college is good and highly experienced. The faculty of the college is of PhD level. The faculty properly guides us and helps us during extra-curricular activities. The teaching methods of the faculty are very good and simple.

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

yes they povide placements. After 6th sem, means in 7th sem you are eligible for placement and apply for companies based on their requirements. Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon and many more visits every year. Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

Environment of my college

Remarks:

There are mostly good remarks for college like the environment in kangra Himachal Pradesh is best in the area. There are dhauladar hill ranges infront for college and fress air of hilly areas are good for students.

IIT Mandi- my home and karmbhoomi

Honestly I initially thought of branch change and college in some what cold place which led me to this college. Our college is moderate in comparison to other iits, obviously you cant compare it with old iits , but yeah its decent enough, having good students and friends. Placement of four college is better than other iits. Some years result in placement ogf good no. of students whereas some leads to okish. The sport facilities are ok. Swimming pool is not of olympic size and it requires lot of time for repair of the sport equipments. Admission process is through Jossa counselling after JEE Advanced. I applied for VIT, NIT BHOPAL, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Jammu, IIT BHU, IIT Ropar, NIT Durgapur, and many of the IITS and NITS. I choose only this so, didn't fill for confirmation for others. IIT MANDI KE ANSUNE KISSE

The admission process at IITs are generally common through a cmon entrance exam all over India named jee mains for nits and then after qualifying in that we need to score good in jee advanced. There are reservations for sc, st, obc and economically backward classes. Like you can get good branches with lower marks. For example in computer science you can get 6000 rank for obc but around 2000 for general candidates....Read More
