IIIT Surat Review

IIIT Surat is the Institute of National Importance under the Act of Parliament. Currently, the college is operating from the temporary campus of Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT). I was given a seat in this college during my JOSAA counseling and after entering the college I realize that the college only provides a B.Tech program at the moment and the crowd is also low and college due to the low crowd there was lots of teacher and faculty interaction. The college also provides a good environment for studies.

The curriculum of the college is very good and the biggest advantage is the college is new and the curriculum of the college is latest and up to date. The curriculum provides all the adequate information from the beginning level to the advanced level about our program. The curriculum helps us to develop our analytical and decision-making skills.

The internship is compulsory as it is part of the curriculum but due to the Covid and lockdown our classes were also going online and we were not able to do internships so we have to submit written assignments according to the topic given by our respective faculty.

IIIT Surat is the new member of the IIIT family and the placement of IIIT is very good as per the industrial standard. The college placement committee played a very important role during the college placement drive as the college placement committee was able to invite good companies for placement and the college placement committee was fully responsible for our placement as the committee worked as the guiding force for us and helped us during every round of placement. The highest package for our batch was around 41 LPA and the average package was around 9.47 LPA.

The college fee is a little on the higher side as it is based on the PPP model but the college provides scholarships. Central and State-funded scholarships are also available. The education loan facility is also available and the administrative staff fully cooperates during the education loan round. The college campus life is good and it gives modern educational types vibes. As the campus is currently operating from the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) so we can also take part in the SVNIT college fests. Sports events like cricket tournaments, volleyball tournaments, basketball tournaments are also organized by the college. The college library is also good and many national and international books are available in the library.

The hostel infrastructure is good and the rooms are properly cleaned and ventilated. Currently, the mess facility is shared with the SVNIT hostel so the mess food quality is good and tasty. The hostel wardens and staff are very professional and maintain the hostel decorum very well. The hostel also provides us with 24 hours of water and power supply and a high-speed WiFi facility is also available. The hostel has all the basic facilities as per our needs.

The faculty of the college are of Ph.D. level and guest faculty from SVNIT also visit our campus which gives us a good learning experience. The faculty properly helps us to clear our doubts regarding the studies.
