Since my admission happened during the peak of pandemic there was no entrance exam, Admission was based on board and jee marks but usually VIT university conducts a entrance exam VITEEE to secure admission. Fees for VIT examination is approximately 1200. If you are studying for JEE you dont have to searately prepare for VITEEE. You have to fill a preference of courses, category and campus. Based on your preferenece list and exam score you will be given admission in VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT Bhopal or VIT Amravati(AP). Also admission in vit is based on category. If you score good marks you will be given category 1. There are 5 categories category 1, category 2, category 3, category 4, category 5. As the category increases fees increases. There in no reservation for VITEEE all are treated as general category and based on VITEEE rank you are given preference.

I am current studying CSE(AI and ML) in VIT Chennai. I got this course on the basis of my preference list. Student to faculty ratio is around 17. There are mixed faculties in VIT. Some faculties are highly qualified like IITian, some faculties have also done PHD and some faculties are okayish. Teaching is moderate in vit. Some faculty just reads ppt while some faculties teaches all the courses till depth. There are 3 examinations per semester CAT1, CAT2 and FAT. FAT is the main exam and CAT1,CAT2 are like samll usnit test. There are total 3 internal assesments for 10 marks each for every course. Some courses have a project component so it make learning more practical. There are also lab componenets for course. So for lab total 60 marks are internal that depends on submission of lab assignments and 40 marks are from exam which is known as FAT LAB examination.Grading system in VIT is reative your grade will depend on the class average of the class.

In VIT we have to do 1 mont industrial internship. It is compulsory. But VIT doesn't provide any internship opportunities. We have to personally contact companies and send resume. BUT after 6 sem you will get many emails from vit regarding summer internship. You can use that opportunity and you can also use brand value of vit to get internship. In order to get internship your resume should be up to the mark. Mke sure you have a good big project and good communication skills. You can check internshala for placements All the best

Placement usually starts in 7 semester. Many companies visit VIT. Placements for CSE is best compared to all. Average package in vit is around 7 lakh. Package over 4 lakh is called dream offer and package over 10 lakh is called super dream. Companies lke Tata motors, ITC, Amazon, google, Flipkart, Microsoft and many others visit VIT. Student shuldn't have any arrears to be eligible for placements. Highest package is around 75 lakhs. Placement in VIT is greater than 90%. VIT chennai students have to go to vellore campus for placements. It is a good practice to have cgpa > 8 for placements. ALL THE VERY BEST!

Feestructure in VIT is based on category which depends on your VITEEE Rank which depends on your marks. Courses in VIT are divided into 2 groups Group A and Group B. Group B has more demanded courses like computer science, Electrical engineering. Fees for Group B is more than Group A. Each group has 5 categories. Category 1 has the lowest fees among all. Group B Category 1: 1,98,000 Category 2: 3,07,000 Category 3: 4,05,000 Category 4: 4,48,000 Category 5: 4,93,000 Group A Category 1: 1,76,000 Category 2: 2,35,000 Category 3: 3,43,000 Category 4:3,68,000 Category 5: 3,98,000 Also there is no fee hike during your course of study. The fees will remain straight throuhout your course. If you are a state topper then your academic fees will be completly covered If your VITEEE rank is between 1-50, then 75% academics fees will be covered If your VITEEE rank is between 51-100, then 50% academics fees will be covered There is a scholarship scheme for students whose income is less than 1 lakh

There a 3 day cultural fest in VIT which is known as Vibrance. Many events takes place during the fest, It is quiet fun. Many famous singers like vishal dadlani has also been there in the vibrance fest. There is also technical fest in vit chennai. It is called Techno VIT. Classes have both ppt and black board. There are also projector in classroom. There is a common gymnasium, and other sport activities like TT in each hostel block. There are cricket,football ground, badminton court, swimming pool and various sport activities in campus. There is also a option of paid gym(AC). There are many clubs in VIT Chennai. You gain take part in any club and gain technical knowledge and grow your network. VIT is full of diversity. You will find peole coming from different states.

There are 2 bed, 3 bed and 4 bed AC and Non-AC room in VIT Chennai. 2-bed AC is costliest among all. There is common washroom. Thare are no ttached washroom. Each hostel block has common gymnasium, and some common sport activities like TT. There are also common Television in hostel. You will get a cupboard, table and bed in hostel. Water is available 24/7. There are also washing machine and lundry service available. There are 3 mess available: 1. Veg: (i) North Indian (ii) South Indian 2. Non-veg 3. Special mess Special mess is costliest among all. It has some extra items compared to veg and non veg If you are staying in chennai wihin 60km of vit then you have an option for opting hostel. If you are staying beyond 60km then hostel is compulsory. For PG you need to take special permission from dean According to me 3 bed AC is the best option. Staying in non ac will be very difficult as it is too hot in chennai. Veg/non-veg mess is preffered over special mess.
