Remarks
Not everyone can opt for IIT college and NITs college but GJU is one of the good options for the average person like me. As my academic and JEE score was just okay but I wanted to opt for the CSE program according to my interest. I felt that GJU would be best as per my preference as the college is situated in my hometown. The counselling for admission is done through the Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) on the basis of JEE score. I was able to get the admission seat of the college and visited the campus for filling the admission form as the college is in my hometown and completed my admission process. The admission was smooth and hassle-free.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of the program was good and interactive. The curriculum is designed in a way that we are introduced to all the aspects of the coding world and all the coding concepts are properly cleared to us. The college also does not compromise the quality of faculty. As most of the faculty members are of PhD standard and they have really very good industrial experience also. The faculty is the one who tells us some simple tips to remember the coding technique and terms.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides a good option for internships but we have to be good in our academics for internships. The placement committee of the college will only help us if we have a good academic score and the company will only provide us with the internship if we have some good coding skills. The average internship stipend was around 35k.
Placement Experience
The college provides good placement. The college has a record of 100% placement. The college placement committee plays a very important role during placement. I was not expecting such good cooperation from the placement committee. The placement committee was successful in inviting good companies. The highest package went up to 19 LPA and the average salary package was around 7 LPA. The college committee was successful in inviting companies such as HCL, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Tech Mahindra, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college fee for the B.Tech program is around 2.40 lakh for 4 years which is very affordable in comparison to many private colleges in India and Haryana. The college also provides good placements. The college has only one scholarship program in which the college fees are reimbursed by the state government. The scholarship is available on the basis of financial needs.
Campus Life
The campus life of the college is friendly. The college infrastructure is very well maintained and the college also has parks that we can explore and spent our weekends. The college library is the house of many international bestseller authors. Many competitions are also organised like debate, quizzes, dance and drama etc. The college also celebrates Independence and Republic Day. Every month the college also organises Projectathon Program where we get an opportunity to demonstrate our coding skills and the judging panel select the best 3.
Hostel Facilities
As Hisar is my hometown I did not opt for a hostel facility. But most of the batchmates were from the hostel and they told me that the hostel is very well maintained and the rooms have a bed, almirah and study table for everyone. The hostel food quality is average but the menu keeps on changing. The hostel warden is cooperative and friendly. The hostel and rooms are kept clean even bathrooms are cleaned daily.
