NIT Rourkela Review

NIT Rourkela is ranked among the top 35 best engineering colleges in India. My interest in the CSE program drove me to opt for CSE B.Tech from NIT Rourkela. The college has a very good infrastructure for education. I was easily meeting the cutoff criteria of the college and during my JOSAA counselling, I was successful in getting the seat of the college. The admission process of the college was good and smooth.

The curriculum of the program is very vast and very deep. The curriculum helps us understand the complete programming language, coding technique and history of coding and the importance of coding in the technological era. The faculty is very experienced and mastered in their respective subject. The faculty help and guide us in our assignments and encourage us to take part in extracurricular activities conducted by the college. Most of the faculty of the college is of PhD level and their experience in their domain is unmatched.

The college provides us with some good opportunities for internships. All details like name, domain and interest are registered with the college placement committee and they help us to find a good company for an internship. These details are also used in the time of placement program of the college. The average stipend for an internship is around 48k.

The college placement is very good and the college is able to meet the 100% placement record and all thanks to the placement committee of the college. The placement committee of the college is very responsible and very cooperative. They are the ones that help us and guide us during the placement rounds as our information is already registered with the placement committee so they are aware of our domain and interest. The highest package for our batch was approx 28 LPA and the average package was round 10 LPA.

The college has a number of scholarships schemes to provide scholarships. The scholarship is given on a merit basis. Financial assistance is also provided to SC/ST. The state government-funded scholarship schemes are also available. Scholarship schemes like PMS (Post- Matric Scholarships) for SC by the government of Orissa, TCS (Top Class Scholarships) (All students) given by Tata Consultancy Services, Merit Scholarships (Govt. of Odisha), NTS (National Talent Scholarship by Government of India, Indian Oil Scholarship, etc are available in the college.

The campus life of the college is good. The college infrastructure is very well maintained. NITRUSTAV is the college annual fest and INNOVISION is the college technical fest where we get an opportunity to show our coding skills. The college has sports facilities also like basketball, volleyball. table tennis, badminton court is available. The college library is modern and all types of academic and non-academic books are available in the college library.

The hostel facility is good. The rooms are available in sharing facility. The hostel campus also has the canteen facility the food of the canteen is very good and there are all types of menu from veg, non-veg to Chinese. The hostel mess food is also good and cooked in a hygienic space. The hostel decorum is very well maintained by the hostel staff. The hostel has 24 hours of water and power supply facility. the hostel facilities are as per our comfort.
