IIIT Surat Review

The college is very low-key at the moment but is gaining momentum very soon. The college only offers B.Tech program in two courses Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science And Engineering. After clearing the JEE exam I participated in JOSAA counseling and my JEE score was not like to be qualified for top IITs to top Nits engineering college of India. I was allotted a seat in IIIT Surat during my JOSAA counseling the college does to have a permanent campus as at the moment the college is operating from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT).

The curriculum of the college is very good and very interactive. The case study and simulation activity is used to teach us so that all the basic detail are properly understood by us. The college mainly focuses on the B.Tech program so the crow in the college is low and the faculty focus is more. The faculty is not only of Ph.D. level but they have really very good industrial exposure which is very important for us as the faculty always guides us and helps us to clear the concepts. The faculty motivates us to think more innovatively and they help us to think in a more problem-solving manner.

We are eligible for the internship after competing in the third year of our program. The college has a good internship program but after completing the 2 weeks of the internship program lockdown was announced so we were not able to complete our internship program. So we were not able to complete an internship so we have to submit a written assignment.

I must say that during this pandemic also the college has managed to invite good company and the packages that we receive were really very good. Even in this situation, the college was able to reach a 100% placement record. The placement committee has done a commendable job in helping us during the placement round. The highest package was around 40 LPA which really amazing and the average package was around 15 LPA. For such a new college the packages offered were really amazing and unexpected.

In comparison to college fee which is around 6 lakh for complete B.Tech program could be on the higher side but the placement package that we were offered was really a good return on investment the average salary package was around 15 LPA which very good return on investment. At the moment the college has a state-funded scholarship from the state of Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP, MP, and many more. But at the moment the college does not have it individual scholarship program.

At the moment the campus is shared with Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) because the college does not have a permanent campus. As our college is low on the crowd so we can also enjoy the SVNIT cultural fest and technical fest and we can also take part in the SVNIT technical fest if we have an innovative machine design of any kind of skill to demonstrate. We also get an opportunity for guest lectures from the faculty of SVNIT which is a very good learning experience for us.

The hostel is good as I earlier told that the college shares its campus with Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) so the hostel mess facility is also shared with the SVNIT hostel mess facility means the food quality is good and the menu is very vast. The hostel rooms have beds, almirahs and study tables. The hostel also has 24 hours of water and power supply. The hostel wardens and staff is very cooperative and friendly.
