Remarks
IIEST Shibpur is one of the oldest engineering colleges in our country. IIEST Shibpur the faculty here are good and the infrastructure is very well. The admission to the institute is through JOSAA counseling. I was given a seat in the institute during the JOSAA counseling and we have to pay an amount of 35000 to secure our seat in the college. IIEST Shibpur is very famous for its B.Tech program.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of the college helps us to develop our analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills. The curriculum is up to date and is as per the international industrial guidelines. The faculty of the college is very good and very interactive sessions are held by the faculty in the classrooms. The faculty of the college not only have PhD degrees but also have very good research experience and through it, they guide us and help us during our assignments and research work.
Internships Opportunities
The college has a very good internship program. We are able to take part in the internship program after completing three years of our course. We can also opt for an off-campus internship if we have a much better opportunity for an internship. The average internship stipend is around 45k.
Placement Experience
The college is one of the oldest institutes in India and the placement of the college is also as per the college stature. The highest salary package was around 25 LPA and the average salary package was 11 LPA. The college manages to reach 100% placement. The placement committee io the college is professional and their members are very experienced and able to invite good companies for the placement drive of the college.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college has reservation policies and financial assistance for SC/ST/PWD. There are state and central government-funded scholarship schemes that are also available in the college. The average complete fee of the course is around 6 and the average salary package of the college is around 10-11 LPA which is a very good return as per the college fees.
Campus Life
The campus lie of the college is normal as ordinary college life. The college organises fests like REBECA-cultural fest and INSTRUO- technical fest. The college library seating arrangements are modern and there are many non-academics and academic books available. The library also has international research journals which are very helpful for us during the college assignments. The college classrooms are very good and properly maintained.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are good. The rooms are available on sharing model. The rooms are cleaned on daily basis and bathrooms are cleaned on every alternative day. The hostel menu is vast and the food quality is good. The hostel wardens and staff are very professional and they maintain the hostel discipline very well. The hostel has 24 hours of water and power supply. The security of the hostel is also very good.
