Chemical Engineering by Sophomore

One has to qualify to jee advanced and jee main. The Rank of jee advanced is considered as the cutoff for the admission process. Jee Main is usually conducted twice in the month of January and April and after clearing that you can attempt JEE advanced in the month of May/June. I am from the general category but there are few seats(20 percent) reserved for girls and for those seat cutoff is generally a bit lower than usual.

I always had a particular interest in chemistry and thermodynamics, so I preferred to go for chemical engineering. Faculty: The student ratio is 1:10. All the professors are PhD graduates and are well equipped with the concepts and knowledge. Here we are one midsem and one endsem every semester with some quizzes and assignments throughout the semester. The exam is a pretty exam to pass if someone studies sincerely giving 1 hour per day.

Internship opportunities are quite as compared to placement, but few students got to intern for Sde roles, analytics and consulting, while few students got into research under the core professor. Projects made using app/web dev are usually preferred during the interview.

Students are eligible for placements in their final year. There are more than 300 companies visiting our campus offering 1100+ offers this year. few companies are PnG, HUL, Microsoft, Flipkart,Uber, Rakuten etc. Highest package was of 2.16 Crore this year from the whole college while from my department was 58LPA, the average package was around 18LPA. Companies usually hired for SDE roles with few for consulting and analytics and core chemical. About 90 percents of students got placed this year in the first season, the next season is in the month of March. I have decided to go for core chemical jobs or Mtech in chemical engineering.

The fee is fixed by the MHRD and is around 2.1Lpa. the cost of the study is a bit high but it is less than other private engineering college, so its value for money, fee students whose family income is less than 5LPA gets some discount on the tuition fee and those below 1LPA or SC/ST students doesn't have to pay any tuition fee.

The major fests of the college are Technex, kashiyatra, FMC weekend, Spardha, E-Summit, Ozmose (Chemical Engineering society fest). All of them occur in the time span of March to May. There are also fests, particularly for freshers. Other events keep taking place throughout the year. There are a lot of books in the library although the course books are somewhat fewer in number. There are separate blocks for every department equipped with labs. The sports council is active in the offline mode with an array of sports and equipment. All clubs and websites related to the clubs are run by the students like the coding club COPS, Dance club, Indian and western Music club and a lot more to explore.
