Remarks
As in most government colleges, the admission process was tedious. Moreover, due to it being one of the best colleges in the state, many students want to study here. The eligibility for B. Sc was to have above 70% in the 12th boards (SC/ST students had special reservations). The admission form and all details regarding admission used to be provided at the college office but recently the college has made the admission process entirely online.
Course Curriculum Overview
B. Sc is one of the highly regarded courses so it was definitely not a difficult choice. For our course, the faculty: student ratio was about 1:10. The faculty, in my earlier semesters, comprised of mainly newly graduated people who did not have much experience. Self-study was the main method of study. In the later semesters, experienced teachers started giving lectures and it was a much better experience. There were two term exams- midterm and endsem. They were each held once a year. The exams were easily passable.
Placement Experience
The placements were mainly offered in our department, i.e. mainly for the B. Sc students. If you wish to study B.Sc, then DHSK college is not a bad choice as the placements offered are good. Again the placements are not 100%. Most of the students did not receive a placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
During the time I studied, there was no fee hike. The course was easily affordable, moreover, scholarships were provided for students with merit. Comparatively, the course was cheaper than some others provided at the college. The college regularly held competitions with a decent amount of money as a prize. Also, the college was no hidden charges like some other colleges.
Campus Life
The annual fest was held in the month of January every year. Along with the annual fest, other fests like farewells and welcoming fests were held as per needed. The library is enormous. It is one of the best facilities provided at the college. The library is filled with all kinds of books of different genres and subjects. The classrooms were regularly cleaned and maintained. Extracurricular activities were numerous. The college took part in most of the inter-college stuff regularly. A sports week was also held annually. Unfortunately, the college does not have clubs. The only club is the "green club" which is entirely student run.
