IIEST Shibpur Review

Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur is not only the oldest engineering institute of India but the college is also very popular in India in terms of placement and education quality. The admission to the college is done through JOSAA counselling. I have to clear my JEE exam to be part of the college. After clearing I got into the JOSAA counselling and reserved the seat for me during the counselling.

The curriculum of the college is the latest and up to date all the industrial information and knowledge is covered in the curriculum. The curriculum is designed to provide all the collaborative information regarding aerospace technology. The curriculum is flexible and helps us to understand the concept in detail. The faculty is the one that helps us to understand the curriculum in detail and deeply. The faculty are mostly PhD and they have completed their PhD program from the best institute in India. The faculty is highly experienced and they are completely aware of our mentality and help us to understand every concepts properly.

The internship program is good and we have to take part in the college internship program at the end of the second year. The internship is designed in a way that our classes are not left out and we are able to complete 8-9 weeks of internship properly. The internships are also paid and the average stipend for the internship that we receive is around 55k.

The college has a very good education system and the college placement are also very good. The college provides very good placement packages too. The college placement committee member have very good industrial experience and their experience help them to invite a very good number of companies. The college invites more than 98+ companies to take part in the college placement committee. The highest placement offer of the college is around 39 LPA and the average salary offer is around 12 LPA.

The college provides scholarships on a merit basis and the college also provides a complete waiver in the college tuition fee if the annual income of an individual is below 5 lakh. The college also has several scholarship schemes for various departments. Scholarships can also be availed through the National Scholarship Portal for the college.

The college has many facilities. The college also has a separate sports cell and there are many sports facilities like basketball, volleyball, kabaddi, plus football and cricket. The sports cell has also established a yoga centre for us so that we can also practice Yoga on the college campus. The college computer lab is equipped with the latest computer and the computer lab is very well designed and properly maintained. The college infra is also very nicely maintained. The college canteen is also very neat and clean and the food in the canteen is very good. We all use the canteen for birthday parties.

The hostel of the college is very nicely maintained. The hostel rooms are very nicely designed and the rooms are very airy and fully furnished. The hostel rooms and bathrooms are neat and clean. The hostel has an indoor games facility and the common room also has LCD TV and carrom. The hostel mess food is very good and hygiene is properly taken care of. The hostel has 24 hours of power and water supply. The security is also available 24 hours.
