Remarks

MLDC is one of the oldest and known colleges in Mumbai the management has a vast experience and popularly known as PTVA which stands for Parle tilak Vidhyalaya we had good management and our principal was one of the best.

Entrance Preview

Post clearing 10th board scoring 79.23% in it i took admission in this particular college for FYJC course. Then since FYJC till 3rd year of bcom continued in the same college reason for getting into the college was low percentage i had scored in my board exams and on the top of it i was not in position to secure a seat in any other college apart from this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

FYJC and SYJC is like cake walk for everyone though mathematical subject (especially chapters like derivates and integration) wad painful B.Com was also kind of cake walk for me since i was pursuing CA also hence, for a CA student, BCOM is easy course.

Internships Opportunities

I dint get into the placement rounds however, I had heard that few companies had come who offered one guy a package CTC of Rs 400,000 per annum and other guy was picked by some IT company who had paid package of Rs 335,000. In th courses like B.Com, majorly all the students pursue the course of CA hence, many of the students dont go for the placement rounds since getting placed for CA is any day better than getting placed as B.Com.

Placement Experience

1.5

Less placement opportunities since course is such. However, job opportunities are good for person who had cleared B.Com Job opportunities for a person who have cleared B.Com are accountants in the coproorates, helping to a Chartered Accountant etcHowever it is to be noted that the package or the earnings wont be that good.

College Events

4

Festivals usually lasts for the week. Everyday there used to be some theme for celebrating some or the other day of festival. The name of the festival is zunj the same are sponsored and prmoted by various brands such as spykar etc which students need to acquire thr sponsorship. Every student is required to participate in one or the other part of the festival.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The course will not cost more than 15000 over thr period of three years hence, i think everyone of us can afford the same on the top of it, there are concession available to the people who are economically backward class which is about 80-85% of the total fees wherein the major chunk of tution fee charged by the college is waived off.

Fees and Financial Aid

No i dont know of such facility or loan thing and i have never applied for however, there are many scholarships programs which are undertaken by the university of Mumbai for helping the meedy students to pursue the course.

Campus Life

2

Mostly, students of our college were not economically sound there was almost equal sex ratio overall it was good however, the campus and crowd of the college need a make or change over there were no hostel of the colleges so there were no such parties.

Alumni/Alumna

Everyear there is alumni meet and people meet at the gathering in the college campus only. The program is personally organised and conducted by the principal of the college. The college has huge network of alumni with people having their career diversly pursued senior students are quite helpful in the colleges.

Exam Structure

2 semister exams for each and every year hence there were 6 exams over a period of three years apart from the above exams. There used to be unit tests before each semister exams so we also had 6 unit tests also so in the course of three years we had 6 semister exams and six units tests which makes it to 12 over a span of three years.

Faculty

4

Faculty of the college was good and co-operative they also used to solve our doubts in person also, many of the professors were friendly with the students overall we had good faculty.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
