NIT Rourkela Review

While searching for the college for engineering I felt that NIT would be the best choice for me as NITs are known for their B.Tech program and NIT is very popular for engineering. NIT Rourkela was the best option that suits my preference whether in terms of placement and education. I cleared my JEE mains and appeared for JOSAA counselling and I received the seat allocation for the college in my JOSAA counselling.

The curriculum is very nicely designed and help us to understand all the electrical concepts and its component very deeply. The curriculum is a proper balance of theoretical and practical knowledge. The curriculum helps us in understanding electrical circuits also. The faculty of the college is full of experts they are completely aware of basic details ad logics of every technique, in short, I will say that they were the master in their respective subjects. The plus point was that the faculty have completed their research work with PhD degrees from the best institutes of India.

The best thing that I like about the college is its internship program we get a very good opportunity to explore our creative level during the internship and to gain a very good professional experience as we are freshers. The placement committee properly looks into our interests and help us accordingly for the internship.

I don't think I have to write much about the college placement as everyone knows that top NITs college placements are best and NIT Rourkela is also from the same league. NIT Rourkela not only manages the 100% placement record but also provides very good placement quality and very good professional opportunities. The highest package was 27 LPA and the average salary offer was 9.50 LPA. Amazon, Barclays, Siemens Gamesa, Citi Bank, Bajaj Auto, Microsoft were the top recruiter of the college.

The college fee is high no doubt as the complete course fee will cost around 9 lakh but not to worry our college also offers scholarships on a merit basis through PMS (Post- Matric Scholarships) for SC by the government of Orissa, TCS (Top Class Scholarships) (All students) given by Tata Consultancy Services, Merit Scholarships (Govt. of Odisha), NTS (National Talent Scholarship by Government of India, Indian Oil Scholarship, etc scheme. As being the B.Tech our college life is full of assignments and the schedule is very busy but still, we make a window to enjoy college life. The college also organises NITRUSTAV is the annual fest and INNOVISION is the technical fest. In the college technical fest, we get an opportunity to show our capabilities. The college library is a place to be in as our library has around 60000 books from all over the world and a variety of topics books are available in the College library. The college also offers sports facilities like Badminton Court, Basketball Court, Cricket Ground, Football Ground, Swimming Pool, Tennis Court, Kabaddi Ground, Volleyball Court, Table Tennis, Hockey stadium. There are separate labs for every department.

The hostel is very good and everything in the hostel is properly maintained. The rooms are not only fully furnished but properly cleaned. The hostel has sports facilities like badminton and a volleyball court. The hostel has a WiFi facility for internet connectivity and a Gym is also available in the hostel. The medical facility is proud the clock is available. The mess food is very well cooked in a clean environment.
