Entrance Preview
Took the college's entrance exam. I choose this course which a paramedical course because I was interested in it and it has a lot of scope in the future.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum was good. We had basic anatomy/ physiology and Ent in our first year along with psychology. The entire syllabus is divided into Speech and audiology and we have various subjects under it including the disorders their therapeutic treatments, intervention strategies etc.
Internships Opportunities
Excellent, Presently in internship only. We get postings in hospitals and various other set ups such as rehabilitation setup. The stipend given is 6000? per month.
Placement Experience
The hearing aid companies approach us. Or we get to know which companies have vacant and we approach them. They call us for their interview. Else in hospital setups we can apply when the post is vacant which we come to know through adds in the news paper or they are put up in the college bulletin board as well.
College Events
Not much cultural events happen in the college although we did celebrate annual day which is the day the college has been started. This time there was a function where ministers were invited and a conference was held to make people aware of our profession. Also sports day is celebrated, which includes sports like badminton, cricket, table tennis
Fee Structure And Facilities
Since our college is a government college, the college fees in minimum that is 12000? per annum approximately. The hostel is equally feasible to everyone which costs approximately 3000? per month excluding food which is very cheap in a city like Mumbai.
Fees and Financial Aid
That are a lot of scholarships that the college offers! One is free education to Handicapp students. I haven't availed any of them.
Campus Life
The extracurricular activities are equivalent to nil in the college which a big drawback. Sports should be added and playgrounds should be built within the college campus. Apart from that classes for dance, singing should also be there.
Exam Structure
Neither very frequent nor too chilled out. 3 internals plus one final university exam. The first exam is pre mids which happen after a month of the beginning of a session. Second is mid term the happens approximately 2 months after pre mids and third is pre university. After pre university we get a break of about a month to prepare for our final university which happens in May.
Faculty
Have a very experienced faculty although the faculty is very less as compared to what is required. The requirements are Masters in Audiology and Speech language Pathology or PhD in the same.
