IIIT Surat is one of the most well renowned IIITs established in India. I decided to take my admission pertaining to low cost and high return on investment here. The JEE cutoff for electronics engineering is 4074 as the opening rank and 9258 as the closing rank. The university is good for quality placements and good opportunities
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum in the first year focused around all the Engineering basics. From the second year, we were taught subject-specific modules like analog transmission, basic electronics, microprocessors, satellite communication, etc. The faculty student ratio was 12:1 which is decent enough. We were tested with bi-weekly quizzes before examination.
Placement Experience
The placement cell recorded the highest CTC of 34 lakh per annum and average CTC of 11.3 lakh per annum. More than 40 companies visited our campus and the total placement rate was 70%. Recruiters included Microsoft, Amazon, American express, code nation, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The university provides an annual scholarship of 100% fee waiver to students whose family income is upto 2,50,000. The students with family income Between 250001-600000 will be eligible for a 50% scholarship. I opted for a student loan in the event of ineligible for scholarship.
Campus Life
The campus life here was great. We participated in clubs and events which were intercollegiate and intracollegiate. Apart from that, we were provided fun courses on documentation using latex and Vedic math. The university supports initiatives like Fit India, AISHE, Swayam prabha, satyamev jayate, etc.
