For taking admission in Jadavpur university,you have to secure a good rank in WBJEE exam.Exam consist of two papers.Paper 1 consist of Mathematics and Paper 2 consist of Physics and Chemistry.Total marks of the WBJEE exam is 200.Paper 1 and paper 2 both include 100 marks each.

I am pursuing electrical engineering.The course curriculum is structured in excellent manner here.It provides the depth knowledge of the subject.Professors are well qualified ,knowledgable, student friendly and they always help students.

70 percent of students got internships from our course.The role offered under internships with stipends are data entry, software development, etc. The project is developing software for a company and many more project.

In our department electrical engineering,the average placement is 9L per annum and placement percentage is around 90 percent.The college provides internships in famous companies like microsoft ,Adobe,Infosys,etc

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of the college is around 12k for four years.Imagine you can complete your graduation in just 12k.Hostel fees is also low and just ?10 per month.Many scholarships is available for academics,family income need ,etc.

Campus Life

The campus is fully greenish and wonderful.The gender ratio of Engineering is low.Infrastructure are also good.There are more than 16 clubs like mountaineering club,music club,drama club etc.The extracurricular activities of college is useful for us.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Review of Jadavpur University

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
