Remarks

The eligibility criteria for the course was stated in a simplified manner. A student must have secured atleast 70% in 12th boards. And then based on the percentile scored in jee exams or SAAT exam, we were given an option to select the branch of our choice. We had an option to chose 3 branches of our choice based on our preferences, most liked to be the first choice. Details regarding application form, fees, and application dates were mentioned clearly on their website. There was no Application fee for their SAAT exam though. The college has also provided us with options to avail scholarships based on our 10th and 12th boards percentage. SOA has secured a good position in the NIRF rankings as well, in all streams as well! We had also received emails and updates regarding the admission procedure timely on our registered phone number and email id. Details regarding hostel facilities and bus facilities are also very well clearly mentioned in the website. It was overall a smooth process.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course because of my keen interest in computers and software and technology. Most of the faculty of the college are very highly qualified. Many teachers are themselves students from various IITs and NITS. Teaching method of the professors vary from person to person. Some explain very well in due time and some take a little more time. For my batch, each class has a strength of approximately 70 students. And there are approximately 25 sections of CSE. Since our course started off late due to covid, we had to wind up our 1st semester along with exams within 4 months. It was a little rush though. Exams were fair enough for a btech cse student.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Companies that have offered jobs are: 1. Microsoft 2. Amazon 3. Wipro 4. TCS Since I am a first year student, I don't have detailed information regarding internships and placements. But these are most common and popular and the good companies that have visited and offered placements along with amazing LPAs.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Some of the best companies that have offered jobs are Amazon, Microsoft, and many more. As per the latest information, a student has also bagged an average LPA of almost a crore in an off campus placement. 2 students have also secured 65 Lakhs LPA. Alongside the highest packages, average students get fair enough LPAs. Maximum students get well placed, and those who have backs, or have lacked in any aspect, only they are left out. My plans after getting the degree is to first get placed in a very nice company with an amazing LPA, and then on joining it, I will further decide to do any further course thereafter.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for our batch is 2,35,000/- per year. For a private college, it seemed alright. We have options to avail scholarships based on our 10th and 12th board percentages. One securing above 70%, 80%, and 90% in the both the board exams, gets a scholarship of 15,000/-, 25,000/-, and 35,000/- respectively. As of now, I don't have any knowledge regarding financial assistance by the college. College provides us with internships and training courses, and also offers in-campus placements. The placements are quite good with a nice LPA too! Hostel charges for non AC rooms are manageable. But for AC rooms, the fee seems more than expected. The hostel mess provides us with good food when compared to other college hostels.

Campus Life

4

The fests that are conducted in the college are named as Genesis and Chakravyuh. These are conducted quite lavishly and has a great spirit of participation and fun all across. The college library has quite enough number of books. It has many other books of other authors too, than that are followed for the course. Availability of books of other authors also provides us with an opportunity to have a good reference and more knowledge on various topics. All the classrooms are well ventilated and have ACs too. Classrooms are quite large and spacious as well. There is a basketball ground and an open space with nets where some practice cricket. The other campuses have swimming pool and other sports ground too! The college has many student run clubs for students like, Codex, Toneelstuk, English Cafe, SOA Music club, Danza, Odanza, Coding Wizards Club, Shrishti, and many such more. SOA has its own radio station as well. Most of the student run clubs have their own websites as well.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are 4 hostels for girls, and 10 hostels for boys. Each hostel building is quite large and spacious, with a lot many rooms in each. Girls hostel also has a small open gym area within it, along with a small all in one store and a basketball ground. Each 4 bedded room has 2 fans and 2 tubelights, and plug points are provided near each bed. There are 2 windows along with curtains provided. Each person has its own bed, table, chair, and a cupboard. Registration for hostels were done along with the registration for the course. Non AC rooms of the hostel are quite affordable, but the AC rooms can be said to be slightly costly. There are many PGs available too near the college campus itself. Our college also has a separate building for a food court.

Other Applied Colleges

VIT | BTech

Because ITER-SOA has better NIRF rankings for all courses.

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
