All you need to know about IIT BHU

Admission process in my time was very simple as everything was online. I applied for Josaa counselling and on that basis I got my college. I gave JEE ADVANCED exam for entrance in IIT. application form is available on JEE ADVANCED portal and to apply for it, you need to clear JEE MAIN first and then only you are eligible for JEE ADVANCED. Registration portal opens about 3 weeks before the exams and you can fill the form. Registration fee is 2800 for general and 1400 for others.

I choosed mining engineering because there is a lot of requirments in this feild in India which are to be fulfilled as the demands are increasing day by day. Also this course is easy and you can have time to prepare for other exams like UPSC CSE and so on. Teachers are very highly qualified and are always ready to solve your problems. there is a huge number of teachers and for each speciality about 4-5 teachers are available and in mining department about 50 -60 faculty members are there. Till now I have given online exams but offline exams are yet to come. courses are same as in civil and mechanical and are very easy and interesting. but for some courses you need to work really hard.

About 1000 offers for internship is provided every year and many off campus offers are also available, So there is a very good ration of students who got internship last year. Colege made a separate department for this purpose named Training ang Placement Cell, to provide an active support to students and to help them in their problems related to internship. companie bases on data science, SDE,ect are giving a lot of students PPOs and Internships. During summers many students work under professors for their projects and proffs being very helpul and supportive to them.

Placement in IIT BHU is very very good, thanks to the great alumini networks. about 90% of students got placed in 2021 and average was 26lpa, with 2.01 cpa maximum . companies like google, microsoft, JP Morgan, goldmann sach, tata steels TCS, Tesla,and many many more were top recruiters and provided a bulky package to students. If talking about number, we were second (1200) in all India, first been IIT KGP. People from non circuital branchnes were also got high placements as most of the companies were open to all.

Fees are high as you don't expect government college to have such a high fee (115000 per semester). But if you are in SC/ST category don't worry much as the fee is not to much (15000). There are various scholarships avaailable from aluminy funds and some government schemes and you can take their benefits.

Once you are here you can be the part of various clubs like literacy, music, sports, counselling, etc and you can join them to gain experience and connections. Many fests are conducted in campus like Kashiyatra (annual cultural fest), Spardha (annual sports fest), Udyam, etc , were students from all parts of north India participate and a healthy competition and positive environment can be observed.

Food in mess is very delicious and you also have 24*7 canteen facility in hostels. Beside of this, every hostel has its own sports court and equipments for students and you can see people playing badminton and soccer full night. you need to pay mess advance fees at the starting of semester which is 12000 but you will get your money back if you are not taking food any particular time. rooms are good but more improvements are needed in services in hostels like water cooler maintainance, etc
