For pursuing BCom, you just need to clear your +2 exams, doesn't matter commerce stream or science stream. You will get application form at college website www.bmcc.ac.in I would like to suggest the college authorities that the admission process should be made faster. For my batch, it took 2 months from the date of filling of application form till the date of first day of classes.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am pursuing CA exams. As I also wanted a degree I opted for BCom. There are 100-120 students in one division. Like this there are 5 divisions for BCom. And for 6 subjects (including one optional subject), there is one teacher for each subject. The semester exams are easy given that you just study regularly. Some papers are very easy, and you can score good even by studying for few days. But some subjects are really deep, and demand for more efforts.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements during last semester of BCom, i.e. 6th semester. Many MNCs and Accounting and Legal firms visit our college for Campus placements. After getting my BCom degree, I will move forward with and pursue my CA course.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college is Government Aided college and hence the fees are comparitively very low. Total Course fees per year is ?8000. But cost of living in Pune is high. Depends upon where you live, and in what type of accomodation like Hostel, PG or Flat.
Campus Life
Annual fest for BCom is called Astitva and for BBA it is called Troika. Both these events are held in January/ February every year. But due to COVID, these schedules are changed. This particular year Troika is in April. Library has plenty of books, journals and resources. Classrooms have digital boards on which they teach through PPT, and also conduct online class through Microsoft Teams app. As far as I know, Some students run Nature Club, which involves nature conservation activities done by students every week.
Hostel Facilities
The college provides hostel facility for boys and girls both. Myself living in BMCC Boys Hostel, I would say it is a good place of accomodation for young students. As it is inside the college campus. But the fees for hostel are high. We get one single bed, table chair, cupboard and a rack in our room. Mess food quality is very good. Registration process of hostel is lengthy. You have to bring some documents like Bcom fees receipt, Adhaar card and address proof. Also they ask for documents of local guardian who lives in pune or has adhaar with Pune address in it, for safety purposes.
