Remarks

To apply to this college should fill out the form for the course we are opting for and should fill in basic details like name, % of 10,12th standard etc. The application will be available on the college website. www.sjc.ac.in. The one who has scored above 60% is eligible for selection. The selection will be based on an online interview where they will ask a couple of questions regarding academics and rest on personal characteristics. Preference will be given to upcoming classes minorities etc. I would not recommend any changes in the admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I took a Bachelor of Commerce (regular). Faculties are good and well qualified. Most of them are PhD holders and doctorates. When I joined there was a huge scope for commerce so students were high in number, so the faculty: students ratio is approx 1 faculty: 85/90 students. The teachers use different methods but most of them would present through PowerPoint if it's a theory topic and if the topic is practical they would use blackboard. There will be mid sem tests a couple of months from the start of the academic year, the end and mid semesters are not difficult they are relatively easy. If the student has a decent knowledge of the concepts they can pass easily.

Internships Opportunities

4

Each and every student has to do a month of internship. There are few internship opportunities at the college, it's better to do internships individually outside the college. The internship is decent that is offered by the college. The stipend will be in the range of 3000-5000 Rs. Every student should submit a letter of experience regarding the internship that they have gone too

Placement Experience

4

In the 6th semester, the students will be eligible for placements. The companies that come for placements are Ernst and Young, Google, PWD etc, on an average the salaries offered are 350000-450000 for BCom students. About 70/80% of students will get placed. After degree I am planning to do Cma USA to improve my skills.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is ok, for me, it did cost 65800Rs. The fee can vary from 65000-to 70000 for a Bachelor of commerce regular. There will be various scholarships offered, mainly the scholarship will be to help the minorities and financially unstable people. One of the main scholarships offered is the Management scholarship. There are no job opportunities on campus.

Campus Life

4

A lot of fests will be conducted. Every month and for every 2 months, a fest will be conducted. The fests are "Pratibha", and "Regalia" which are conducted by the business and management department. There are a lot of books, and journals in the library. The library is also well maintained. Easy to take books from the library. Projectors are available in classes. There is a wonderful infrastructure in the college. Even though the college is old has a good infrastructure, has a sports facility. There are nearly 70/80 associations for culture and sports. There are student associations in the college.

I would rat 8/10 as the course was pretty good, I learnt eaverything in my B.com, whether its abut marketing, finance, sales , accounts. So basically it included everything a student needs in their graduation. I suggest that there should have been regular classes with encourages student teacher interaction.

In our period it was prestigious to study commerce stream in our college and had good rating for the course and the for students who passed out from that college. The management had good lot of concern about the poorer section of the society and hence kept the fee structure at a very nominal level and thus help to get education for all
