Remarks

Awesome college. Good and helping faculty members. Awesome management. Great opportunities provided there. As it is among the top most universitites the placement is awesome. The crowd of the college is good and there are many extra curriculum activities and workshops are organized there.

Entrance Preview

minimum 50% required in 12th with 45% in Physics and Maths. I got 88% in 12th and was difficult to get any other good college in Kolkata so I filled up the form here.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure is similar to IIT Bombay. If You love physics, you will love this too. The curriculum is very good and useful. It covers a vast range of topics.

Internships Opportunities

HCL, Genpact, Value Labs, Sarayodhaya IT Solutions, TCS, etc. were the companies that visited the campus. Software jobs on java domain and BPO jobs were offered to the students as part of internships.

Placement Experience

4

Placement scenario is good here. Apart from consultancies and mass recruiters, we have companies like Hero, PWC, ZS Associates, Royal Enfield, Shapoorji Pallonji Construction, L&T Construction, SAP Labs, Samsung, Goldman Sachs and many more other big names visiting the campus. Being the premier institute in eastern India, we can really boast about its placements and research facilities.

College Events

3.5

The campus enjoys many cultural and technical fests organised by students which help in enhancing extra-curricular activities of students. There are student societies which host various festivals and its fun to arrange and attend these festivals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

A very high fees is charged fro the students which is 7,28,000 for the whole course of B.tech and then there are other expenses like hostel food etc which have to be taken care of.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, they offer scholarships to students scoring more than 90%in 12th boards, they get full scholarship. Loans are also provided and the hostek charges as well as stationary etc can be counted in the loan amount.

Campus Life

4

The campus includes law, management, pharmacy, science, architecture students also so one can have good friends in every field. Technology has a total of 7 blocks for classrooms, labs and workshop including auditoriums and 4 seminar halls.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Girls and boys have separate hostels with security guards in each hostel. In night time girls are not allowed to walk in the campus ( 6 pm- 6 am)Canteen opens from 9 am to 3 am in each hostel. Single room for each student. Instant complaint resolution. Labs and hostel rooms have LAN connection for high-speed internet. Yes, I faced some infrastructure issues but they were resolved after booking complaint on the portal.

Alumni/Alumna

Those who have the interest in physics go to research side or some PSUs and some to coding companies and some to management side etc. This is what I have heard frm the seniors.

Exam Structure

Our course curriculum is quite outdated. There's no CBCS system i.e we have limited choice over our electives and that too in our third years. We have percentage system here, unlike the percentile system at the IITs.

Faculty

4

The faculty is very helpful and will try to help you in every possible way. They will force you to study and put you on right track. They will help you with the notes and books. They also provide extra classes whenever you ask for it. Also, there are separate tutorial classes for practicing problems.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
