Remarks

For my course, that is electrical engineering PCM group in 12th was mandatory. The application and admission process will be done through the MHT-CET website only or the DTE (Maharashtra Government site for engineering admissions). 50% reservations for Christian minorities. Management Quota is available as well. But that can be discussed only at the college office.

Course Curriculum Overview

1

I elected Electrical engineering as my vocational subject in 12th was Electrical and I liked it. Our class strength was 70 and our department has a staff of around 15-18 teachers for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years. Experienced teachers are Phd and teachers with less experience are Mtech atleast. But teaching method is not at all productive. It is too many marks and is test-oriented. Almost every week you will be having some of the other tests. Also, there are Prelims before the end sem exam every semester which is just a waste of time and resources. HOD is not very supportive and no one actually listens to the students. Very few teachers are good at teaching and actually concerned for students. Term exams were held as per the guidelines of Mumbai University and decent efforts are required to score provided you are attending the lectures or studying on your own. To be a topper you need to study harder.

Placement Experience

0.5

You are eligible for campus placements during the final year which is sem 7 and 8 both. For electrical specifically Schneider, BMCD, Godrej, and Technip, were among good companies to have offered placements. But electrical students were permitted to appear for IT companies as well as per the companies criteria. Placements in Comps or IT were way better than Core branches. Almost all the students appearing for placements were placed but avg pkg. was very low 3.5-4.5 LPA in electrical.

Fees and Financial Aid

During my course of 4 years, there was no fee hike due to covid. But if college becomes autonomous in near future there is a high probability of major fee hikes. There are scholarships provided by the government on the MAHADBT site of the Maharashtra Government. No financial assistance is provided by the college at all. And the placement cell also has very unfavourable rules to participate in the campus placement process. But ample job offers were there during my time but the payscale was very less.

Campus Life

1

Etamax and Faces are two fests conducted in one year. Certain criteria are needed to be fulfiled during these fests. Failing to do so hefty fines are charged. The only best thing in college is the library has books from various domains and is well equipped with Multimedia. Classrooms are good but without AC. Different amenities and courts for football, Basketball, Badminton, etc are there but nothing is free even for students. Everything is paid. Many social and technical clubs are present in college. There as well college does not provide funding at all. Students have to bear the expenses.

In Kit college their are some rules for placement drive. In 7th sem companies started to visit our college. During my placement my engineering percentage is around 70 and I am able to attend every drive. Once student get placement offer from one company that student is not allowed to apply next company which package is near to previous company. Placement in Kit college in my year is 70 to 75%. The unplaced students have decided to go for MS.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
