Remarks
Anyone who has qualified jees advanced can apply but the final seat allotment is based on Jossa counselling. The application form can be found on jee advanced website, fee is 2000 rupees for general candidates. Reservation for OBC, GEN(EWS), SC, ST, and PWD can be availed.
Course Curriculum Overview
I had chosen civil engineering because it has more options like a gate, ECE along with non-core jobs. The faculty-student ratio is 1:23. Almost all the faculties are from IITs and other foreign institutes. Semester exams are not hard to pass but you have to study hard to score well.
Internships Opportunities
Top companies like Microsoft, Google etc. gave a stipend of over 1 lakh per month. The roles which were offered are software development, product management, data analysis, data scientist etc. One can easily do projects under professor guidance by just asking them
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements in their final year. The top companies visited were Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Flipkart, uber, ola, American express etc. The highest package was 1.5 lakhs and an average package of 8 lakhs was offered. Almost 99 per cent of the students got placed on campus. I wanted to prepare for UPSC after graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are somewhat high but considering an IIT you can get an easy loan from the banks by submitting your registration details to the bank. The Alumni network is very strong for my college and many alumni scholarships are there for the students also. Almost all students get placed with a good package.
Campus Life
Kashiyatra the annual cultural feat is conducted in January every year followed by Technex, the annual technical fest in March. The library has many books and is keep updating with new journals and books. We have 3 main grounds and one sports complex along with basic sports in every hostel separately. Various intra college fests are there on the campus all the year. COPS IIT BHU have its website it is the coding community of IIT BHU.
Hostel Facilities
We have to live in 2 seater rooms in hostels. Hostels are well equipped with Wi-Fi all over and also LAN cables in the room. The meal is quite good here with a large variety in the three-time meals. Registration for a hostel is easy you have to fill out a form and submit it to the hostel office and are affordable of course as they have a minimal mess charge and room charge.
