IIM Bodh Gaya - microcosm of opportunity

Any Graduate can apply for the admissions. The application form is released on the official CAT website. There is reservation for students belonging to certain categories based on income and caste as defined by the government of India.

After working in the IT sector for 6 years, I wanted to take a leap in my career by completing the post-graduate program in management. IIM Bod Gaya offered admission based on the CAT score and profile. IIM Bodh Gaya has the best faculty who have extensive experience in teaching and working with industry. There are around 40 faculty on campus working with around 300 students. The students' numbers will increase with the 2024 batch of admissions. The final score is based on CGPA. Students are evaluated on scales that are defined before the start of the session. The scoring is based on performance in End term and mid-term exams, projects and assignments, class participation, etc. The exams are based on a course structure that is shared before the start of the session. The exams are easy if a student is active in class and studies throughout the trimesters.

Internships are facilitated by the Career Development committee of the college. All the students got offers from various companies in various roles related to marketing, IT, analytics, HR, and business development. The projects were meant for industry training and helped student to understand the functioning of an organization.

The students are offered a summer internship in the first year which gets due by end of the first year of MBA. The internship selection starts in the first trimester itself and lasts till the third trimester. Final placements start in the second year. The placement is facilitated by the college with help of the Carrer development committee. The college has registered 100% placements in all its years since its inception with median and average packages increasing every year. the batch of 2022 clocked the highest package of 30.50 LPA with an average of 12.36 LPA. Batch of 184 students was placed.

The fee is one of the best for a college of IIM standard. The fee includes tuition, hostel, and career development fee. There is Need-based financial assistance for students as well. Mess fee is paid as per the students' consumption and payment is made to the vendor which is over and above the fee.

The annual fest of college is Elegante which attracts student participation from all over Indian premier schools. There are cash prizes distributed for the winners and it teaches a great deal of management to all those who actively participate in activities. The classes during covid were conducted online on google meet. There are classrooms and Libraries for students on the current campus and the new classrooms are under construction that is going to be completed very soon. Students can engage in various sports like Volleyball, Table Tennis, Cricket, Basketball and Badminton. The college has 13 clubs and 12 committees that are run by students and mentored by faculty. The few committees are Media&PR cell, Career Development Committee, International Relation Committee, Cultural Committee, and many clubs for Analytics, Finance, HR, and Marketing domains.

The college hostel has singly occupied rooms for boys and double sharing (bigger) rooms for girls. The hostels have a terrace and food is served in the ground floor mess area. Facilities like geysers, daily cleaning of washrooms, water cooler and purifier, washing machine, power backup, and security are available. All the facilities are available 24X7. This is s residential program so every student needs to stay in the hostel. The cost of rooms is included in the total fee, You only pay for the monthly food that you consume. The rooms are very affordable as compared to real estate prices. The food menu is maintained by Hostel and Mess committee and reviewed every month.

The student needs to write CAT for a year and then he becomes eligible for next year's admission process. The exam is held mostly on the last Sunday of November, results are out by January's second week and interviews start from February. Admissions are offered in May after which students complete the formalities of college. The selection for interviews depends upon the cutoff marks and the student's individual percentile score. It is a competitive exam and most of the students get filtered through cut-off. Those who are clear on cutoff, are called for interviews, and professors from various IIMs ask questions based on the profile of the student. There are some marks for diversity, work experience, and female candidates.
