NIT Calicut Experience

I wanted to complete my CSE M.Tech degree at NIT Calicut because NITs are well-known for their coding culture, and what better option than NIT Calicut, where the placement record for the CSE program is excellent. There are only a few universities in India that offer CSE as a flagship course, and the college itself is well-known for its CSE program. So, I worked very hard for my GATE exam and in my academics to meet the cutoff criteria for college. My hard work paid off, and I was accepted to NIT Calicut based on my GATE rank. After passing the GATE exam, I must attend CCMT counseling.

The college is well-known for its CSE program. The curriculum adheres to the most recent industry standards, as well as domestic and international standards. The curriculum is designed to teach us the fundamentals of engineering concepts, as well as technical and managerial skills that will help us know the significance of technology in today's industry. The college's faculty is PhD-level with industrial experience, which is extremely beneficial to us. The faculty's teaching methods are so effective that we are captivated in class and fully comprehend the concepts.

Internships are extremely important for gaining professional experience. The internship is a fantastic learning opportunity for us because it allows us to apply our understanding in professional settings. We are qualified for the internship after finishing the first year of our program, and we must register with the placement department to participate in the internship program.

The college offers one of the best CSE programme placements. The college has a perfect placement rate. The college placement council is extremely helpful; they guide us through the entire placement process. Our batch's highest package was around 40 LPA, and the average salary offer was around 10.75 LPA. During the placement drive, companies such as Accenture, Amazon, Bajaj Auto, CGI India, Capgemini, Big Basket, DE Shaw, Microsoft, Google, and Samsung visited our campus.

Our college has very good scholarship programs like Merit-cum-Means Scholarships, E-Grantz, Reimbursement of full tuition fees for the SC/ST, and Top Class Education Scheme for SC/ST.

The college campus life is fantastic. There are two major festivals. Tathva, the college's technical fest, is held in August, while Ragam, the college's cultural fest, is held in January. These two festivals are extremely popular among us. College classrooms are large and open. The college library is large and well-stocked with books and international study journals.

Two students share the hostel rooms at a time. The rooms are large and spacious, with two beds, two study tables, and two almirahs. The hostel is well-kept, and the rooms are cleaned five times per week. The hostel's mess food is healthy and tasty, however, the menu is limited. The positive point is there are 14 hostels, each with its own mess, then we can adjust the mess as per our preferences for a fee of Rs. 83/- per day. The hostel also provides us with internet access 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
