Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have chose ECE because it is a good branch from a good NIT, i haven't checked the curriculum of the course before joining. The course curriculum is good and i think it is relavant for electronics and communication engineering. It is updated in 2023, the core subjects starts from 1st year itself and from 2nd year the students have electives to choose. There are mid and end exams per sem which are mandatory and also tests and assignments which depends on proffesors. Every sem after mid sem exam there will be fest for students relief. They can make improvements in lab sessions, if they can give more information about the experiments it will be helpfull for students.

Internships Opportunities

5

Texax Instruments gives intern oppurtunity as analog engineer at a stipend of 60000 per month.Dell also took interns. For texas instuments it is mostly the 1st year basics should be strong, they will conduct a test, in which mostly analog and digital electronics are major part.

Placement Experience

5

The campus placements are good, can be better. This year the average is 15L and median is 12L and highest is 50L for ece, the percentage of placed students in ece is also greater than 80%.In the 3rd year students are taken for interships and those may convert to placements and for 4th year students placements will start from the start of their 4th year itself. For ece meesho, dell, texax instuments and many other companies came, meesho paid the highest salary in ece.My plan is to secure a good job in core company.

Fees and Financial Aid

Semister wise academic fee(excluding tution fee for below 1 lakh income): 1 sem : 53642 2 sem : 13000 3 sem : 21100 4 sem : 13000 5 sem : 20642 6 sem : 13000 7 sem : 20642 8 sem : 13000 For hostel and mess fee, i have paid 91000 in 1st year and in 2 nd year it is 66000. It actual changes every year. The tution fee is 62500 per sem for students who have income above 5 lakh, and 0 per sem for those whose income is below 1 lakh and for SC and ST. The students here can apply to varies scholarships like FFE, reliance ug scholarship, also NSP.

Campus Life

5

There are 2 main fests, one is Tathva for technical fest and the other is Ragam for cultural fest. Tathva generally happens in the month of October and ragam in the month of february. There is also tarang fest conducted for management students and Adijya for BArch. The accessiblity of books and journals in campus library are huge, students can also access e-copies of majoriy of books. In every classroom there will be pojectors, speakers and also wifi facility. There are more than 10 clubs in the college and also branch associations. The techinical clubs like Unwired and Aerounwired have great achivements nation wide and also very popular within the campus.

Hostel Facilities

4

For 1st years(boys) it will be triple sharing, for 2nd and 3rd it is double sharing and for fourth it is single rooms. There will be cupboards, desks, chairs and also wifi facility in hostel. the hostels also have hotwater facility for bathing and there will be water purifiers in every floor for drinking water. There are washing machines also. The quality of mess food iis good and the taste is avarage. The regestiration for 1st years will be done on the day of physical reporting and for others it will be in an app called NITC Hostels.

Admission

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. The admission process is quite simple, it will take one day to complete, there will be students and staff to help the newly comming students.

Faculty

4

When it comes to faculty to student ratio, i dont know exactly but NITC has the most number of teaching and non teaching staff amoung all NITs. The faculty are approachable, but few of the faculty just come to class and reads the ppt. The garding system here is very nice, it is relative grading(depends on the proffesor) mostly and absolute grading for labs. The attendance percentage depends on the proffesors, mostly it will be 70 to 80 %. There are a total of 190+ students in ECE, about 50 each in section(there are 4 sections in ECE), there might be 5 to 10 students who fail to clear the exams, but the institute provide facilites like re examination. Since it is relative grading we can get good grades if we study before one week of exams and listenting to classes. Also the assignments(there will be one test before mid sem and end sem each) and tests depends on the proffesor. Some proffesors also gives assignments. The lab equipment is good but the teaching faculty in labs are not good, they expect us to know everything about the experiment before the lab session itself.

Night Life

4

For first year Btech students there will be few restrictions like cerfew at night, they must be in the hostel befor 7.30 pm, the institute encourages this for preventing ragging in the college. This cerfew time will be increase to 11pm after few months. For remaining students there will be no cerfew timings . For girls there are night canteens which are operated until 2pm at their hostels, for boys there is no facility like night canteen. In campus ther are 4 major canteens, 2 gyms which are accessable to those who take subscription but there are few aquipments like threadmills and dumbles in hostel(in megha hostel) itself.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance. The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies. The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.
