Remarks

Shaheed Bhagat Singh College is a top priority college among the students of commerce background as it has the 2nd highest number of commerce seats in the university. A student has to score more than 90 per cent if he is unreserved as I was, to apply for Bcom honours and he should have maths as one of the best four subjects. The application form will be available online but if you want to find it in the college you will get that on the left side near the entrance gate as there is a stationery shop inside our college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I opted for this course because I had an interest in maths and accounts and this course nurtured my skills, the faculty of the college for this course is also great, you will find very teachers and their teaching skills is also top-notch, especially for commerce students the faculty here is exceptional, term exams happened every six months and the difficulty level was moderate one could easily pass them if he studied wholeheartedly in the last week before the exams

Internships Opportunities

3

Summer and winter internship camps were held every year and many big multinational corporations and not-for-profit organizations come to the college, you could get it by just giving a single interview, but if someone tries from outside of the campus he/she could also get the internships easily from many sites available.

Placement Experience

4.5

Many big companies come to the college for placements. The placement drive starts when you reach the 5th semester and lasts till the end of the sixth semester, in my time many companies could not come at the end because of covid, but till then many big companies also came like Deloitte, KPMG, hobs and shaw, etc. The average package of the college is around 3.5 lacs per annum but can also go up to 16 lacs per annum, 3 students got placed for that company, but if you are active in college in doing internships and have joined good societies you will get a decent package of around 3.5 lacs, I did not sit in the placement because I wanted to operate in the government sector but many of my friends got placed and are working in those companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

It is a very cost-friendly college as the per year cost of studying in the college was just around 8000(7000 for per year fees and 500+500 for semester exam forms) if you stay in Delhi, So if you are from Delhi you will easily complete your degree in just 25000, and if you came from outstation you have to live in a rented house or apply for pg which increase the cost by 8000 per month approximately. The college also provides internship facilities as camps were held in summers and winters and many big MNCs came for the same like decathlon, Deloitte, etc

Campus Life

4

Every March, the college union conducts a fest named dastaan, in my time two great Punjabi singers came in 2018 - Akhil and in 2019- Sukhe and Dastaan 2020 was cancelled because of covid, The library is very big and spacious, u can find any genre of the book here, The classrooms differed according to the blocks as there are 7 blocks in our college, the best rooms are in block A as they are air-conditioned and well managed, the others are somewhat similar, the sports room of the college is not properly ventilated, you will suffocate while playing Table Tennis there, but the ground is pretty good and you can also get stuff from sports room to play. For commerce students there are many societies also in our college like YES, Economics society, Commerce society and many more, you can also find art and cultural societies like Sparda for dance, etc

Other Applied Colleges

Dyal Singh College | B.Com Honours

As I got SBSC, it is the best college for commerce in south campus

SGND Khalsa College | B.Com Honours

I got to know that the crowd of SBSC and CVS is better than this college

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
