To become eligible for this, you must first clear the JEE Main exam with a decent rank up to 45000 ranks for General category students. For other categories, students or students from West Bengal or girls' students may get admission to lower ranks also. You can apply for this college only through JOSAA or CSAB counselling. Yes, reservation facilities are availed in this college. Here reservation quotas like EWS, OBC, SC, ST, PWD, Home state quota, and girls' quota apply here. There is also fees concession benefit for SC, ST, PWD, and those students whose family income is either lower than one lakh or between one lakh to 5 lakh. yes, I understand that here admission process is very smooth, but yet there should be the improvement in some areas likes response on calling or e-mailing for any issue.

I choose this course because mining engineering is the core branch of all engineering domains. Also, the bonding between students and professors is perfect. The placement of this branch students is also higher than some other branch students. The faculty: student ratio for this course is 6:1. The qualification of the faculty should be a PhD. Also, there should be some industry experience. For every semester there are two exams one is mid-term and another is end-term. Also, there is the class test and viva held in a frequent manner. I understand that there is not so much difficulty to pass the semester exam if you study daily for two hours then you will pass your semester exam with good marks.

After completion of the sixth semester, students become eligible for campus placement. There are so many companies visiting the college including TATA steel, Hyundai, Hindalco, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Amazon, L&T, HSBC, PwC, etc. The highest package offered here is around sixty lakh and the average package offered here is seven lakh. More than 90 per cent of students got a placement through campus drive. My plans after getting the degree are to work for the industry and the nation.

This college runs under the MHRD govt. of India. this college is similar to NIT only the name is different. So there is no fee hike by the college administration. Fees may be hiked only when MHRD hikes the fees of all NITs then only fees will hike for this college also. In the college system, some students got scholarships as a GAABESU (an alumnus-driven system). The placement scenario for this college is good. On average 90 per cent of students got a placement through campus drive. The average salary package for this college is 7 lakh per annum.

The annual cultural fest of this college is REBECA, which was held mainly in the month of December or January. Also, the techno-management fest of this college is INSTRUO which is held mainly in the month of March or April. There is a library on the campus named Ramanujan Central Library. Here you will find books from all engineering domains. You will find books from other streams also. You can also study here. All classrooms of this college have digital boards, projectors, sound systems, and air conditioners. The infrastructure in the classroom is good. The sports activities in this college are quite good. There are two playgrounds in this college named Oval and Lords. There is also one volleyball, one basketball, and one badminton court. All the hostels of this college have their own table tennis room and some indoor games facilities. There are some clubs and groups are there in this college named: ICCHE, ENSAFE, Euphony, Reflexobeta, Catharesis, EDC etc.

The facilities provided in the room are one bed, one study table, one chair, and one almirah. Also, there is a separate electric switchboard for each student. The meal quality and menu of the hostels are quite good. Both veg and non-veg meal are available in the mess. For hostel accommodation, you have to apply on the HMS portal. Here you have to pay the fees also. The fees for hostel accommodation are from 25000-28000. The nearby locality is B. Garden Shibpur.
