Average College !

The college is average by all means. The college management is very irresponsible by nature.

I appeared for WBJEE and JEE MAINS. My Wbjee rank was around 20K. I opted for this college because it is close to my home.

The course structure is outdated. More emphasis is given on theory. No research work is encouraged. It's all about mugging up those definitions and formulas. You only get 1 month for internship or training, which is not sufficient. No out of the box thinking is appreciated.

Yes, the college provides us internship. But, most of them are unpaid. Some companies give stipends but they are nominal. Some of the companies which provides internships are, TCS and Mindtree.

The placement is poor for branches like Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil. But branches like CS, EC, and IT have very good placements.Some of the companies which visited our campus for placements are, Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, Mindtree, Capgemini etc. The highest package as per my knowledge was bagged by a CS student, who was placed at Microsoft.

Well, for the last two years no technical fests have taken place. The college does not want to spend a dime on Fests and other events. The only event held every year is the 'Aagaman' aka Freshers Party. Other than that no Tech fest or management fests are organized at our college.

The fees is feasible. For B.Tech the fees is around ₹40K per semester, which is pretty affordable. Various scholarships are available for students from reserved category. Fee waivers are also available for students soming from a family with low income.

The campus is pretty boring. We have a ground which is small by my opinion.Inter Department Football and Cricket competitions are held every year. We also have a college football team. Other than that everything is a myth. No robotics or coding competetions are held. The gender ratio is equal.

The hostel facility are pretty basic. The food is horrible as I have heard. The hostel is not on campus, it is a off campus hostel. Boys and Girls hostels are separate. Both of them are situated at 2-3 kms from the college campus. The college also provides bua facilities for students.

The seniors are very friendly and helpful. We can interact with them freely. We always pester them for their lab manuals and class notes.

The exam structure is not that hectic. In each sem, there are two internal examinations of 30 marks each, lab practical exam and Semester exam which is of 70 Marks. The question papers are not that tough, they are pretty straightforward. But the university is extremely irresponsible. Every semester the exams would get postponed by atleast a month or so. The paper checking is horrible, be prepared for unexpected results. Faulty results and admit cards are a regular phenomenon.

The admission process is pretty straightforward. After the publication of the WBJEE seat allotment result, all you have to do is carry the rank card and all other relevant documents for verification at a WBJEE Counselling center. After the verification you need to visit the college for finalizing your admission.

Most of the faculties are average. They lack subject knowledge. All they do is, give us long assignments and make us write the lab copies twice and thrice. If you refuse to do so, they won't give you good marks in your semester exams. They don't encourage any kind of research work.
