Course Curriculum Overview
I am from the mechanical engineering branch and I chose it since I had heard that it is one of the branches in BIT.The faculty:student ratio depends upon the branch;in my branch there are 129 students for every professor.
Internships Opportunities
IT companies:HCl technologies, NBC, Times internet,PICKR technologies,WIPRO Core companies: Tata Steel, Accenture, Maruti, Aditya Birla group, Reliance industries limited,Hero Motor Corp. Consultancies: Deloitte,Zs Associates,Oracle,PWC took a lot of students. Note:This data is from the mechanical engineering branch.
Placement Experience
Students start getting placed from the start of the seventh semester. In 2021, No of recruiters were around 120,Total no of job offers=831 and the Average package was 11.76 LPA and the Highest Package was around 49.76 LPA Consulting Companies like PWC and Oracle take a lot of students in the mechanical engineering branch. Core companies like Reliance,Maruti,Aditya Birla group too come for the campus placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure depends upon the course u want to pursue.For Btech(four year course),the total fees for the year 2021 is approx Rs 1232000.For integrated MSc courses(five year course),it's around Rs 695000 and for B arch the total fees is around Rs 1732000(five year course).
Campus Life
Bit mesra is a 1700 Acres jungle out of which only about 700 Acres are used !! Boy's Hostel is a bit far from the main building but the girl's hostel is only around 500m from the main building ! Students generally use bicycles to roam around the campus .There is a badminton court in the sports complex,a football ground and a cricket ground.There are also seperate rooms for playing table tennis in the hostels itself. Overall mesra is a good place to spend your 4 happy years!!!Some classrooms are Air conditioned but many aren't.
Hostel Facilities
A lan cable,desk,tube light and a fan is present in the hostels.Room sizes are fine.Though the speed of the hostel wifi is slow,LAN wifi speed is very high and it runs at a high speed of approx 100MBPS.The mess food is good and hygeinic.
