Remarks

I had a low score at JEE Main so there were some colleges to which I can apply. So I started applying for colleges as Burla was most reputed followed by CET followed by IGIT so I put them in the order as I want the coursed which were enrolled by them. the other colleges didn't approve so finally I got approval at IGIT college for the course of electrical engineering. No quota for me as I am a general caste. Admission criteria were at least scoring 60% in the 12th class. And some Minimum marks are around 30-60 in JEE Main. No age limit. After I got the course at IGIT, the college released a bunch of dates for different branches to come for admission. They mentioned different documents which were needed at the time of admission such as Adhar Card, 10th Marksheet, 12th Marksheet,12th Certificate, a copy of enrollment where I got that course, JEE mark sheet, A affiliate from the court, Adrees Proof, Birth certificate and if any quota is there you can show.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Since in the past I was very much obsessed with the battery things and how these wires work, I was little keen on these so I think electrical will be a great course to blend in. There are around 25 faculties 13 permanent and 12 contractual. The student size for each year is around 130. All the faculties are highly trained and do their masters or PhDs at any reputed college or NITs or IITs. Every odd semester happened in December and even semesters were held in May. Teachers will teach in such a way it will be easy to pass any questions and they might give some important questions which will be beneficial for them to study and get easy marks.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

I had no internship as I was interested in making the major project for my final semester. But some students were there who got early placement and got a 6-month internship at their company as a junior developer or graduate trainee engineer and got to know how a company works. I don't know about the project but I know that first 2 months they were trained about what to do at the company and then were told what to do.

Placement Experience

4

From the 6th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. TCS, Wipro, IBM, Infosys, Windcare, Tata Steel, Dalmia Industries, Jayaswal Neco Industries, J.K.Papers, Revature, Hexaware, etc. Highest-14LPA Average- 4LPA Almost about 40% got placed After getting a degree, I want to read more about what I have learned so that I can improve in that field

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of the college are 28750 every year and the fees for the miscellaneous examination are 3500 for the odd semester and 2000 for the even semester. Since my father is in a good service post there was no chance of any scholarship for me. Till now I haven't got any job so no stipend of course.

Campus Life

5

Horizon is our annual fest specifically organized during February. Freshers for every branch are held during November. Fun Fair is held on 1st April every year. And every branch has its branch fest held in March. There is every book we need to study in the library as well as all the recent journals. In the classroom, there is a smartboard for us where teachers teach us but no A/cs in the room. Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton, Wushu(Martial Arts) Dance groups, Nukkad groups, and the Igit Facebook and Instagram pages are handled by the students.

Hostel Facilities

4

The room which was provided was good enough for 4 students to live in. In the 2nd year also 4 students used to live in one room. But, in the 3rd year, the marks decide whether we can live in a room of 3 or a room of 2. And in the final year marks decide where we can stay as in a room of 2 or room of 1. Food quality goes better and better as the years pass. 4th year > 3rd year > 2nd year > 1st year. The registration process is very simple. the fees we can give semester-wise. The fees for mess for each semester is 18000. Since I lived in the hostel I have no idea of outside PGs.

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
