Electrical Engineering in NIT

College management was very efficient in handling critical issues from year 1 to current year. This college has passed from the new private college look to veteran reputed respected engineering college in it vicinity.

Course was pre-arranged by the WBUT university. Each semester has 8 subjects. 7th semester has 2 optional. Lab work was pretty exciting. Lots of study material and course support documents has been issued by the college as well.

Did internship in CESC, one of the Kolkata's Electricity Supply corporations. Had a tremendous field experience along with good connections. Stipend was below average but who needs money when they are in college ?

Lots of placements and job opportunities came up at the begining of 6th Semester itself. More than 70 companies came before we reach final semester and 90% students had offers in hand by the time we reach final semester. I got my job from college placement in a MNC.

In our time it was very feasible. 4 Years total fee was 1 Lakh 20 Thousand but now it is way more expensive. On top of that there were frequent cultural event, lab makeover etc.

There were not any scholarship or loan facility offered by this college at our time that I know of.

Campus life was pretty excited. Lots of Technical Fests happened here. Competition with other colleges along with intra college competition excel many students to create lots of innovative stuff.

It has two big hostels, one for gents and one for ladies. with more than 500 sharing rooms and 50 single rooms. The mess service was a mess though. Bad food and unhygienic at our times.

We have a rich Alumni culture here. Each here one Alumni meet happens and each year pre placement alumni talks happens. Most of the alumnis are now in big positions in many MNCs, Helped our placement and internship stuffs as well.

Exam were very frequent and we were alwasy unde stress which is true for any technical colleges. Each Week 5 Labs.

Overall Faculty rating will above average. Few of the faculties were very good and few are not, which is true for all the colleges. However it is on the student how he/she will take the input.
