Guru Nanak Dev University conducts an entrance exam for admission in the various courses run in the university every year. For the admission to M.Sc. In Human Genetics a candidate should complete his graduation in Life Sciences. University admission process is very fast and is completed within 10-15 days no need to modify anything.

I have a great interest in the field of genetics that's by being choose this course from Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar. All the faculty members in the department are well educated and had great experiences in this field. All have P.hD as well as post-doctoral degree. A semester is of six months. In mid of the semester, the department conducts a mid-term exam that carries 20 marks. And the end terms exam is conducted in the month of May and December carries 80 marks.

University has a placement cell that will provide the facilities the placement in the various sectors. Many Pharmaceutical companies like INDswift, Srf limited, etc., and Institutional companies like Byjus, Akash institute, etc. provide job opportunities for the students with a good annual package of 3.5 lakh to 10lakhs. Also many projects are run in the various departments of the University issued by DST, ICMR, etc. And the dissertation facilities are also provided by the various departments.

Last year of course we are eligible for placement. Many Pharmaceutical companies like Akums Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Indswift Ltd, jubilant, SRF Ltd., etc. As well as many Institutions like Akash, Buyjus, etc. also visit our university to provide jobs to the students. The average annual price of the package is 3-7 lakhs which will vary from department to department. An average percentage of around 60% would be eligible to appear in the interview but the further process depends on the placement committee. I will do P.hD. after completion of my course.

Admission fee for admission in M.Sc. Human Genetics odd Semesters is Approx. 33000 and even semesters is Approx. 13000. Yes scholarship is also provided here but only the students who are residents of Punjab belong to OBC /SC/ST category and also for the general category students who are financially weak by fulfilling certain criteria.

Many tech fests (like:- Cheeks in Chemistry department, Exordium in UBS department, and Tech. Fest also conducted by Technical departments) and annual fests like- Diwali, Holi, Lohri, etc. are also celebrated in the various departments of the University. University has a very large library named Bhai Gurdas Library having a huge amount of books and journals here. Even all the department have their own Libraries. For various sports good facilities are provided by the university like playgrounds, basketball court, badminton court, archery ground, etc. also here. For various indoor games a sports room and a gymnasium hall are also there.

Very good facility and good infrastructure is provided in the hostels of the University. Hostel mess is also good to provide a hygienic meal for the hostler at a good meal rate. Student should have apply online for the registration for the hostel and annual charges for the hostel is approx. 25000 here 6000 is taken as hostel security which will be refunded. Outside of the University facilities many PG and flats are also available for residing outside the university. The main Localities of PG and flats are Kabir park, Kotkhalsa, Putlighar, chhiartta etc.
