My Experiences at BIT

Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra takes admission based on scores obtained in JEE Mains exam which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) every year. To avail a seat in this institute, we have to fill it as a choice in JoSAA/CSAB Counselling. Course Fees can be found on the BIT Mesra Website. 50% of the seats are reserved for the candidates who have done their Intermediate from Jharkhand. Reservations for SC, ST, OBC, GEN-EWS, and Pwd are also present here. The admission process is quite smooth.

Regular Evaluations happen here from time to time. End-semester is the main exam in a semester which happen at the end of semester. The questions are moderate and a student can pass if he has a good knowledge of the subject.

Many companies visit the campus for providing internship opportunities to the student. Generally, students can opt for campus internships fifth semester onwards. The stipend provided by the companies is quite good.

Students become eligible for placement after the completion of their third year. Many renowned companies visit the campus. Generally, Computer Science students receive quite a hefty package with lots of opportunities for other branch students too. There have been offering up to 44 Lakhs from Microsoft. The percentage of students getting placed is quite high.

Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra has a moderate amount of fees with various scholarships for different categories. Scholarships can be availed based on JEE Rank, CGPA, or parental income. GP Birla Scholarship based on CGPA is provided every semester which can cover up to 50% of course fees.

Life is too good at BIT MESRA. There is a huge scope of development in every field here. The annual fest of BIT is Bitotsav which is conducted every year in February. Apart from it, we have a technical fest called Pantheon and a sports fest called Vajra. The Central Library of the college has a huge amount of books. Students can issue the books as per their needs. BIT has a big sports complex with various facilities including a gymnasium. Lecture Halls are quite good in size with audio video facility provided. There are a good number of cultural and technical clubs present in BIT MESRA. These clubs conduct recruitment drives every year for the students enthusiastic about the field the respective club is associated with. BIT also has an NGO named Drishti. NCC and NSS are also there in the college.

There are 13 Hostels present in the college, 11 for boys and 2 for girls. Girls have a double sharing accommodation throughout their course whereas boys get Single Seater Room Second Year Onwards. The Hostel Clerk provides room for the students. The mess has a menu that is prepared by the students itself and has a huge variety. Non-Veg is served three times a week. Overall the food quality is good and edible.
