IIIT Surat Experience

Under the Act of Parliament, IIIT Surat is designated as an Institute of National Importance. The college is currently operating from the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology's temporary campus (SVNIT). I was assigned a seat in this college during my JOSAA counselling, and after entering the college, I discovered that the college only offers a B.Tech programme at the moment, and the crowd is also small, so there is a lot of teacher and faculty interaction. The college furthermore provides a conducive learning environment.

The curriculum of the college is very good, and the biggest advantage is that the college is brand new, and the curriculum is current and up to date. The curriculum covers everything you need to know about our programme, from the basics to the advanced level. The curriculum assists us in honing our analytical and decision-making abilities. The faculty at the college are PhD-level, and guest faculty from SVNIT as well visit our campus, providing us with a valuable learning experience. The faculty is very helpful in clearing up our doubts about the studies.

The internship is required as part of the curriculum, but due to the Covid and lockdown, our classes were also going online and we were unable to do internships, so we had to submit written assignments based on the topic assigned by our respective faculty.

IIIT Surat is the newest member of the IIIT family, and its placement is excellent by industry standards. The college placement advisory board is wholly accountable for our placement as the committee worked as a guiding force for all of us and helped us during every round of placement during the college placement drive. Our batch's highest package was around 38 LPA, and the average offer was around 9 LPA.

The college campus life is good and it gives modern educational types vibes. As the campus is currently operating from the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) so we can also take part in the SVNIT college fests. Sports events like cricket tournaments, volleyball tournaments, basketball tournaments are also organized by the college. The college library is also good and many national and international books are available in the library.

The hostel infrastructure is good, and the rooms are clean and well-ventilated. Because the mess facility is currently shared with the SVNIT hostel, the mess food quality is superb and tasty. The hostel wardens and staff are extremely professional and do an excellent job of maintaining the hostel's decorum. The hostel also offers us 24-hour water and power supply, as well as high-speed WiFi access. The hostel has all of the basic amenities that we require.
