My detailed review on our college

Just like all the major INIs devoted to engineering courses, IIPE offers admission to the UG program on the basis of the JEE-Advanced ranks. The online application form for admission is available on the official site of the college, a few days after the release of advanced scores. The admission process is almost parallel to the JoSAA counselling. Reservation benefits are also the same as that in IITs. The reserved quota candidates are allotted seats according to their respective category rank!

Under the mentorship of IIT Kharagpur, the course content is designed in the best way to equip students with theoretical and practical knowledge of the stream along with invoking their technical abilities. Hence evaluation is done for both theoretical as well as practical knowledge through labs, tutorials, and group activities. The overall teaching staff is excellent. All of them are PhD in their subjects from premier Indian Institutes. Along with that, they are very cooperative and most of the time available whenever needed! Their method of teaching is very suitable. The teacher to students ratio is 1:15. Per semester we have two exams- Mid Sem and End sem. The exams are moderate with few questions of advanced thinking levels and one can surely come up with flying colours if they have properly followed the classes and guidance of their teacher!

After the completion of the 3rd year, students become eligible for sitting in placements. The firms from varied sectors like Oil and Gas, Analytics and AI, and Pharma and chemicals come in campus placements. Most of them are global leaders in their respective domains. The companies include IOCL, HPCL, ONGC, GAIL, AkzoNobel, Shell, L & T, Worley, Saint Gobain, Torrent Gas, Linde, Indian Oil Adani Gas, Premiere Energies, IRM Energy, Dalmia Bharat, Deccan Fine Chemicals, Sanmar Group etc. In addition, interested students are also placed in Analytics and Consulting companies such as ZS Associates, TCS, Accenture, EXL Analytics, Hitachi and many more. As per the most recent data 57 companies visited the college and 106 placement offers were received by 82 students. In connection with the above data, in the current graduating batch(2022), around 98% of the students are placed and the remaining have opted for higher education in IITs & IIM. Highest CTC was 24 LPA and the average CTC was 9.57 LPA.

According to the most recent information, per semester tuition fee for new UG students is INR 75000 and a miscellaneous fee of INR 9000 needs to be paid one time per year. However, category wise reservation benefits are availed. If the yearly income of the applicant's family is less than INR 1 lakh then a 100% fee waiver on tuition fee is given i.e. no charges for tuition fee. Else if the family income is less than 5 lakh INR then tuition fee is INR 25000 per semester. As of now, financial assistance and scholarship facility are limited by the provision of fee waivers only but talks are going on to explore more opportunities!

Vizag is called the "city of destiny". It is a very beautiful city with lots of beaches and visiting places. As of now, IIPE has its temporary campus on the second floor of Andhra University. We can expect the college to shift to its own permanent campus within the next two years. However, certain clubs and committees like a coding club, sports club for various games, literary and cultural committee (LITCOM), EAA etc. are run actively. Apart from this, the college has its various student chapters like SPE-IIPE, IIPE-AAPG for Petros and AIChE student chapter for Chemos which work for developing socio-cultural skills, and provide internship opportunities and awareness of the latest technologies through journals. The annual fest of the college "Astralis" is held by the cultural committee. The college has SR Ranganathan Library from which one can issue books of their interest. Classrooms are digital, well furnished and air-conditioned. Hostels have many indoor game facilities and basic gym machines.

The college hostels are best in class, safe and have AC rooms, washing machines and all other basic amenities. High-speed wifi, attached washrooms, shelves, LED TV room (common), basic gym machines, TT, carrom and other indoor games facilities are available. Hostels are located in a good area where nearby you can find many shops and malls. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostel accommodation fee is INR 25000 per semester(any category) for double occupancy. Additionally, the mess charges will be around INR 5000 to 5500. Meal quality is good, North Indians or scholars from any region need not to worry about the menu as students come from all over the nation hence the menu is designed to take care of everyone.
