Pros and Cons of ‘MY COLLEGE’

You have to crack Patna University common entrance test. The application form applies in the month of May, application form fees should range from Rs.600-Rs.1200 depending upon how much college you give in your preference, the application form is available on the Patna University website. You may also avail reservation benefits, there are seats reserved for different category students. Some improvement in the admission process is that the application form fees are too high compared to other universities so these application form fees get minimized.

I am taking admission in Physics Honours from Patna Science College because this college is best for science study and especially for Physics. It is considered that “Physics is the Heart of Patna Science College”. There is a large faculty presence, and the faculty-student ratio is 1:70.Faculty is well educated all have a minimum PG degree and some have P.hd. degrees also and some also qualify for NET. The teaching method is awesome, they use their own handmade notes and old Physics books for study. Now, Patna University adopted Semester wise system so exams were engaged every 6 months and the level of difficulty is high. It is not easy to score a good percentage.

Final semester students or the students who completed the course become eligible for campus placement. Very few companies visited annually like Flipkart, and Amazon was visited but they do not provide many offers. The highest package is of Rs. 350000-?400000 and the average package is Rs.240000. Approx 7-8% only students get placed in a specific course. After getting the degree, I plan to do a Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.).

The fee structure is nominal for every course, for Physics it is around 4000/year. There we also take advantage of Central Scholarship and State Scholarship(for ex-National Scholarship Portal and Post and Pre-matric scholarship). There is no financial assistance given. There is a low placement rate, some vocational courses have placement opportunities in some local companies.

The annual fest is conducted in the month of March on the ocassion of National Science Day.There is differents type of activity run by college and all students can take part in it. There is a wide collection of books available in library and daily newspaper also provided to students. Sports like Cricket, Chess, Table Tennis, Football and many more organised also some extra curricular activity like Drawing, Poster making, Essay writing, Debate, Quizes also get organised in the month of March-April.Some social groups active at University level is that of ABVP and also a complaint number or website provided to students.

There is no GD and interviews for general courses. You have to only face written exams whose pattern is based on the latest CUET syllabus. After giving a written exam you have to score minimum cutoff marks for that course and the university releases a merit list and those students who are on this list, get a chance to take admitted to specific courses. These processes cover at least 1-1.5 months time. So there is no type of pressure or hesitation at admission time.
