Remarks
The admission process start with a entrance exam VITEEE. We need to apply to this exam via official website of VIT. After appearing for this exam you get the rank for your performance in VITEEE. Based on the rank you got you will be able to select the desired course and desired campus and fee category. After the councelling process done you will receive a confirmation mail that your admission to VIT is successful and they also attach the fee details in that same mail. I think there are no reservation benefits for this exam only rank of VITEEE exam matters. I don't want to see any other changes in the admission process as it is good and fair enough.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in CSE course so I choose this course. There are sufficient faculty for the students and the student faculty ratio is also good. Almost every faculty holds a doctor degree and done masters and futher higher degrees too. Teaching was good and understandable. In a semester there are two Mid term exams termed as CATS - continuous assessment tests and one main exam FAT - final assessment test. The standard of questions they give in exam depends on course you are doing and faculty.
Internships Opportunities
VIT provides internships. It also provides internat internship too. It further help in our career and we too get our work experience form this. We don't need to worry about this internship and placement in VIT. They will provide this and we need to grab the chance they provide.
Placement Experience
From 3rd years students are given chances of placements. Infosys, TCS , Wipro are notable companies which are given lots of placements opportunities. I think we don't need to worry about placements, we just to study good and maintain on CGPA. Highest package is 45L per year and average is 7L per year. After getting degree I planned for higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure was communicated and fixed to you at the time of admission process. This fee category depends upon the VITEEE rank you got. Fee categories are like 1st category was around 2 lakhs per year, 2nd category is 3 lakhs, 3rd category is 4 lakhs, 4th category is 4.5 lakhs and 5th category is 5 lakhs per year. The Indian Bank provides educational loans to the VIT students
Campus Life
As now this was a pandemic situation going on there were no fests conducted. But when everything goes well in future they may plan to conduct. The library of VIT Chennai is good and many books and journals available to read. Classroom are also good. Cricket ground, tennis court and swimming pool are there inside the campus. Students here are free to handle clubs and gather to work and celebrate in their clubs.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels were Average. There are 3 hostel blocks A,B and C A and C are completely boys hostels and there will be a bed , table and cupboard given to you. Mess is bad and food quality varies day by day. Hostel registration process can be done in VTOP ( VIT student website ). No information about rented room or PG.
