Historic College

This is one of the historic college and I am proud to be a graduate pass out from this college.The college fame gives you enough accreditation in your CV.The college is currently having A grade accredition from NAAC and exceling more and more.The college management is good but a rusty a little time so had to deal with them.

I cleared my HSC Exam i.e. 12th Boards and after scoring 80.33% I was looking for a recognized college for my 3 years of commerce.Sydenham College is the Asia's first commerce college with lots of aluminies passed out through this institute.This is one of the best college in Mumbai located at Churchgate.

The course curriculum is based on Mumbai University syllabus.It has vast field for studying and researching like Auditing,Economics,Maths,Export Marketing,Management,IT,Operational Research,Accounting,Foreign Trade Policy etc An allround commerce field available to explore.

I am not having idea about internships in the college for BCom but heard about internships for BMS,BBI courses in the college

There is a placement cell in the college which assist in placing students through campus and bring various companies like Tommy Hilfiger,KPMG,Google in the campus for students and also train students for facing interviews.On an average the package was around 2-3 Lakhs p.a. I am not aware about how many students were placed but I heard many got selected for face to face interviews.

The college holds many events and an annual festival held in the month of either December or January called "BROUHAHA" in which a large participation is seen by students.The college also participates in various other college festivals like UMANG or KIRAN.Various social, as well as cultural festivals, are also held by the college.

The fee structure of this college is very much feasible i.e one of the cheapest college around India since it is funded majorly by the Government and it is a Government College.The total fees for BCOM course for 3 years was around Rs.15,000 to Rs.16,000.

Yes the college provides scholarships and concessions to students.The concession for Railway Pass is provided by the college.Some minorities like SC,ST,OBC with proper certificate gets concessional benefits in fees also.Also there is Scholarship for various academics as well as sports and cultural activities one can avail.I myself secured Rs.34,000/- scholarship for securing highest marks in Law subject.

The Gender Ratio of college is equal.There is a Fresher's party for new comers in the college in first year.Varios workshops for skill or other activity like for defence training among girls etc are held.Various competitions like debates,essay,poem etc are held on various topics in English,Hindi as well as Marathi language for which there are prizes for students.The crowd here is of mix religion,race,ethnicity.No ragging is tolerated or held in the college.No politics and union thing is there in the college.Only one unit is there which is known as NSS for various college as well as social welfare oraganised by college in which numerous student are members which offers a certificate from Government.

The college does not provide hostel facility but adjacent to the college there are numerous hostels funded by trusts and also one is Government Hostel which is funded by Government.There is a mess in Government Hostel which is above average.There is also a canteen in College which is above average serving Veg as well as Non Veg foods especially the South Indian and Chinese food.I am not aware about the rates of hostels or PG's.

Alumni meeting take place in the college and seniors are saviors in the college who assist their junior counterparts in every possible way.The gelling between juniors and seniors is quite good.

Exam structure is little hectic during internals keeping 2 to 3 papers a day but for Semester papers a single stretch pattern is followed in which one may have holiday between papers or not depends upon college authorities.The exam procedure is very systematic and organised by the college.

After the HSC results I took admission form from college admin department and filled it out submitting with supporting documents like HSC Marksheet,Leaving Certificate etc of previous college.Then three list regarding students who got selected came out in which I secured.I made a DD of Rs.4500/- for first year of commerce admission.The admin department was very co-operative and helpful.

Most of the faculty of college is good in their particular field .The faculty at the college is highly qualified professors possessing various degrees and having a vast knowledge in their particular field.Their interaction with students is very humble and faculty is totally helpful and co-operative with students.
