The entrance is based on the JEE Main exam and the cut-off for the general ECE course category is 97.5 percentile. The admission process is governed by the Josaa and CSAB rounds. Reservation for OBC, SC, and ST students is given.

I am interested in electronics and also inclined towards software, so ECE helps me know hardware and software. The student-to-faculty ratio is around 1:8 Every faculty is highly qualified with a PhD degree and multiple patents and faculty qualifications can be checked on the institute's website. We have a 4-month long semester with two quizzes, one mid-semester, and one end semester.

MadeIT is the incubator set up in IIITDM which has multiple sponsoring companies which provide various internships and many companies in Chennai offer various internships in IIITDM so internship opportunities are abundant.

pre-final and final year students are eligible for placements many tech companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and adobe are placed and almost 97 per cent of the total final year are placed in our college. The highest package for use is around 56LPA and the average is around 13LPA for ECE highest is around 48LPA and the average is around 11LPA and the average for mechanical is around 8LPA.

The college fee is around 800000 for the four years of a degree for each semester it costs around 92000-95000 which includes 60000 tuition fees for OBC and general category and tuition fees waived for SC and ST students. Hostel fees include 30000 and 5000 mess advance and 450 medical insurance.

The annual cultural fest is called a samgatha and the annual technical fest is termed vashist and they are conducted in the month of April-May. we have 4 floors of centralized AC Library with all new editions of books and journals. Classrooms are central AC with projectors and huge boards. All outdoor sports including cricket, basketball, football, athletics, volleyball, and tennis with separate grounds and courts are provided and an indoor sports complex for badminton table tennis yoga basketball and a fully equipped gym All cultural and technical clubs are available which are highly active in conducting various programs.

For first-years it's a double shared room with a good amount of space and two iron beds two tables two chairs and two huge wardrobes and rooms are maintained really well. Meals in IIITDM are far better than most of the IITs and NIT and a mix of both south Indian and north Indian menus is present. Registration process everything comes under institute registration after josaa allotment.
