Remarks

You need to pass class 12th with >75% in PCM and must have a valid JEE Mains scorecard. There is no separate form for appearing in the counseling, as IIIT BBSR comes under GFTI the counseling is done by NTA only. No separate form fee is needed for it. You can fill the choice along with other government institutes. There is no need for improvement in the admission process. Selection is done through an online portal, you need to be physically present for the Document verification during final admissions. Just pay the admission fee, fill up 2 forms, get your documents verified, get a hostel allotted, and shift there. All on the same day.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Every semester exams are conducted on the date according to the annual calendar. There is no delay in that whatsoever. The administration is very attentive to the smooth conduct of exams. You will get ample time after exams to do whatever you like. You need to study for the exams for sure. You can't cram your way into an 8-pointer. Study 1-2 weeks before the exams and be attentive in the classroom, that's all it takes.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Dell, Capgemini, Media.net, etc. came for internship. Most students go for off-campus internships, mostly in IT companies. The stipend is nice for most companies. It's the experience you gain that matters. You can also do project works right from the beginning of your college under professors. Most of them are IIT grads, so you will get good experience and superb guidance if you approach them properly. You can go for IIT internships by getting recommendations from your professors. If you are a dedicated and bright student, there are many good opportunities inside the college as well.

Placement Experience

5

Placements are nice. Placement starts in the 7th semester. Some companies like Dell, Media.net, etc. do visit for an internship before this. 50+ companies visited this year. Everyone got at least 2 offers. List: Tekion, Dell, Siemens, Tiger Analytics, LTI, IBM, Capgemini, UKG, Informatica, etc. Just visit the placement website for info. The highest package offered off campus was 87LPA and on-campus 25LPA. Both are for software developer profiles. The average is around 8LPA for all the branches. You will be eligible for many companies as IT subjects are part of your curriculum irrespective of your branches. Around 95% placements. Some students went for higher studies and UPSC, GATE, CAT, etc., so they opted out. I am continuing with the company I was placed in.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee will increase slowly towards the final years. It completely depends on you how much fee you want to save. The administration is not that strict about fee collection. They don't mind if you are not submitting it on time. Just try submitting it on time. There are scholarships like GB(for academic achievers), and freeships for EWS candidates. On top of that SC/ST candidates and EWS candidates can also avail of scholarship in tuition fees as it is a govt institution.

Campus Life

3.5

The annual fest "Advaita" is conducted every year in February. Tech fest is also part of the annual fest. Other fests like Literary fest happens in January, and sports events and intercollege tournaments happen all around the year. You won't get bored if you are an active participant. The library is rich. You can find books of all genres. Academics, nonacademic, research papers, journals, eBooks, software licenses, and online research paper website subscriptions all are provided by the college. You won't need to buy semester books, they will be provided by the course library. Classrooms are well lit, soundproofed, fitted with projectors, nice benches, Wi-Fi, power plugs, etc. The batch size is around 60. It's normal to find some event happening every week. You can participate or just watch it for fun. Sports events like inter-branch and inter-college tournaments happen all the time. There is a group for most of the interests. Coding, Robotics, Drama, Literature, Sports, Music, Mess, etc. Follow your interests.

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
