Remarks
You have to take JEE Mains exam for getting admission in the B.Tech course of MNIT. The admission process is done through the JoSAA counseling after taking and clearing the JEE mains exam. In the first year, you will be taught a basic engineering course from all the branches to get insight into engineering.
Course Curriculum Overview
MNIT is among the top engineering colleges in India and is famous for its location and placements stats. To be honest, as an engineer it is almost your responsibility to uplift yourself. Don't rely too much on professors for your in-depth knowledge. Professors here are undoubtedly highly qualified but they too are bounded by time constraints and hence they will offer you only what you need. Exams are held timely every year but due to covid pandemic, the latest semester is somewhat late and hence the examinations too. Exams are taken fully fair and of good level, so you have to study here undoubtedly.
Internships Opportunities
You'll start getting internships right from the end of the second year if you'll have good skills. Microsoft and Deloitte are some of the companies where students get internships every year. Software development roles dominate the internship program.
Placement Experience
Placement stats in MNIT is booming with every passing year. This year, more than 200 companies visited the campus with more than 800 placement offers in B.Tech. Software companies visit the campus in mass and some of the core companies like oracle and Texas also visit the campus. Apple placed 7 students this year again with a handsome package of 60LPA. As an electrical engineer, you have both doors open, either opt for side coding and get placement in software companies or go for core companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
When it comes to fees, MNIT is somewhat costlier than other NITs in India. The tuition fee here of evey semester is about 82000 if you are from general category (Non EWS). There is facility of 2/3rd fee remission for students with family income of less than 5 lacs and above a lac. When it comes to placements, MNIT is average, neither too high nor disappointing. You will get placed if you have skills as more than 200 companies visit the campus every year. So just make skills and get the benefit.
Campus Life
MNIT is vast. Spread over more than 300 acres. The college conducts its yearly fest named Blitzschlag. Due to the pandemic, the fest could not be conducted this year but it occurs annually and timely too. There are good options for peer groups and if you are interested in robotics or coding, MNIT will not disappoint you. The zine is one of the best clubs of MNIT for robotics where new innovations are performed in robotics and artificial intelligence.
