College Review

First of all, you have to apply for the JELET examination which is conducted by WBJEE for the students who had completed their diploma or are in the last semesters. After applying for the examination you have to prepare for it. The exam is not too tough so you should score a good rank just by preparing a little bit. The application fee for the Jelet exam is only 500 rupees. Jelet exam is conducted every year in the month of may under normal circumstances. It may be changed under special cases. You will get all the information about the exam, results, and counseling process through the JELET website. After the declaration of the result, the counseling process starts within a week. There will be three rounds of counseling which are Round 1, Round 2, and the Mop-up round.

B.Tech(Information Technology) is the highest demanding course at the current time. A lot of students are trying their best to get into a good college and pursue IT and CSE courses. IEM is one of the best colleges in west Bengal. The teachers are great. They help in every aspect, especially the mentor. Mentors are the best part of IEM. Mentors also help you with other issues(other than college related). The student-to-teacher ratio is great. We have a lot of teachers. All are experts in their fields. Every subject is divided into modules and for each module, different teachers are specialized in that field. The exams are timely and the questions are of average level. If you follow your teachers and attend their classes then it shouldn't be hard to pass with a good score.

TCS, INFOSYS, and many other companies offer internship opportunities. The stipend offered by the companies is attractive. You have to work on a project along with colleagues which help you in understanding the working culture of companies. It will help you in the future to adjust to top companies.

Students will be eligible from their last years i.e. from the 7th semester. Many top companies visit the colleges for campus placement. Some of the companies are cognizant, Wipro, TCS, and many others. The highest package offered was 41 LPA and the average package is 4-5 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed is more than 90 percent. I plan to get the degree to work in top companies.

The fee to be paid at the time of admission is 91,150 which includes an admission fee of 5000/-, semester fee of 74000/-, library fee for one time 6000/- and fee for student welfare, sports and games 4000/- and MAKAUT student development fee 1650/- and registration fee 500/-. The further fee is 70000/- per semester and the exam fee of 1200/- per semester. The college provides financial assistance through various government programs like student credit card scenes and many other programs.

The college has a large library which has a large pile of books from many global authors. Life at the college is awesome. The college conducts many fests including the annual meet. IEM has three buildings named Ashram building, the Management building, and the Gurukul campus. According to the year, students will be shifted to different buildings. The classroom is very large, fully equipped with projectors and basic items. Teachers use projectors often to demonstrate topics for a better understanding of concepts.
