NIT Rourkela: The Blazing Ground for Opportunities.

The eligibility of my course is to get at least close to the 95 percentile in JEE Mains. The admission process is carried out after JOSAA Counselling. So to get admission in NIT Rourkela one have to get it through JOSAA counselling and JOSAA counselling fees are Rs 45,000 for the general category. For other general categories, the JOSAA registration fee is Rs 20,000. The admission process is very smooth and there is a very little bit of improvement needed like managing the huge gathering of students near BBA.

I chose this course because when I heard about the biomedical branch, it generates a spark of interest in my mind. So I thought of exploring it. Faculty: student ratio is 1:10 Our faculties are highly qualified and their teaching method is both strict and friendly. Our mid-term exams start around the last week of September and February for the Autumn and Spring Semesters respectively. And, our end-term exams start around the last week of November and April for the Autumn and Spring Semesters respectively.

Some of the companies and their internship roles offered are: Microsoft, Flipkart, Amazon: SDE Oracle: Application Developer Some of the projects are like managing a database system, analytical analysis of market trends, etc. The outcomes are more than expected because we have highly motivated students here.

Students become eligible for campus placements in the last year of their completion of the course, although most of us got the PPO (Pre Placement Offer) before the campus placement at the end of our internships. This year (2022) 325 companies visited for campus placements and a total of 1,274 offers were made. The highest CTC offered was up to 46 lakhs rupees and the average CTC offered is 11.2 lakhs rupees for the software, core and analytics companies combined. Some of the companies which offered the handsome packages are Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Oracle. Overall approx 93 per cent of students are placed during this year's campus placements.

There is no such hike in fees because our fee structure is the same for the last 7 years. Out of 99,000 rs per semester, 62,500 rs is our tuition fee. A number of scholarships are offered by different companies for meritorious students at the undergraduate level. These include PMS (Post-Matric Scholarships) (for SC-ST students) given by Orissa Government, TCS (Top Class Scholarships) (All students) given by Tata Consultancy Services. Fellowships/Assistantships are available to all meritorious students of PhD and M Tech (Res).

Cosmopolitan and Nitrutsav our cultural fests of NIT Rourkela are conducted in the first week of January and March respectively. Innovision, the tech fest is also conducted in the first week of March. The classrooms are well-ventilated and air-conditioned with smart teaching facilities. There are various sports available on the campus like 2 volleyball courts, 2 basketball courts, 2 table tennis courts, 2 badminton courts, 1 football ground, 1 cricket ground, 1 handball ground, and 1 hockey ground. Apart from it, we have a gymnasium and every hostel has 2 badminton courts with its own gym. There are also other extracurricular activities and clubs related to it apart from sports like dance, music, coding, drama, etc. Some of the social groups/clubs that are run by students themselves like AASRA and Ted Ex.

Our hostel room has been provided with some basic things like Fan, Bed, Study Table, Chair, Almirah, LAN connection and proper ventilation. The meal quality is very nice and homely and the menu is very diverse. Like we will have non-veg 5 times a week and sweets 4 times a week. The registration process for Hostel is very simple. We have to fill out a form for hostel accommodation at Chief Warden's office and before that, we have to send a mail to Chief Warden's office. After some days we can see our allotted hostel in Nitris Portal. My hostel is GD Birla which is situated inside the campus.
