I study at Calcutta University. Under this university admission process of colleges similar. They admit students based on the previous exam percentage. In our college, if you got 90% or above then only you get admission to our college.

First of all, I admitted that the College of Calcutta University admits their student on the basis of previous exam marksheet. So if you got a good percentage of marks then you will definitely get admission to the college. But in my college percentage rate is high compared to other colleges under Calcutta University.

Placement Experience

End of the 2nd year exam our college provided placements to students. Many companies visited our college like TCS, TLS etc. If you get above 60% then you will get a chance to attend the campus. Then it will depend on your interview

Fees and Financial Aid

I want to study after my B.com graduation. So I didn't apply for them. But our college provided placements with very good salary package for the students. Many students applied their ,many of them got job also.

Campus Life

Our college classrooms were very clean and big also. Lifts are also there in our college. Our college participated in many sports activities like cricket, football, table tennis etc. our college campus is very huge compared to the other college campuses under Calcutta University.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
