Remarks
I got into the college through KCET i.e. the entrance exam by the Karnataka state govt for admissions into bachelor's degree courses in colleges across Karnataka. I secured a rank of 3706 for Engineering courses and hence got into this college. I had an OBC reservation advantage. To write the KCET exam you must have studied in Karnataka for a minimum of 7 years or your parents must have completed their education in Karnataka itself. You can apply for the exam on the KCET website and it is conducted once a year around May. Since I got a govt seat my fees were lower. You can also get into PES UNIVERSITY by writing the PESSAT exam but the fees for such students are around 3.4 lac per annum.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose electronics and communication because I love doing it and I have a natural attraction to design, coding, and producing semiconductor chips. The faculty to students ratio is around 1:20. The faculties are very well educated most of them are postgraduates and a few have doctorates themselves. One thing about the curriculum is that it is hectic and highly academic-oriented. The number of tests and assignments is comparatively more than in other colleges.
Internships Opportunities
Our college offers various internships for students with a decent stipend. I know a senior whose stipend is 50k per month. Various companies do offer internships and also job offers if the student performs well during the internship period. A student during a course will have to be a part of various projects which are very much practical and help the student to develop practical skills too.
Placement Experience
The students in 3rd year are eligible for internships and also internships with job offers. The students of the 4th year will have regular placements. The highest package so far has been 1.5 crores per annum it was an international package for a student of CSE branch for ECE branch it is 40, lakh per annum. The average package is 9lakh per annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is different based upon how you get the seat if it's a govt seat then it's 1.12 lakhs per annum for all 4 years, similarly 3.4 lakhs per annum if you get through PESSAT, and well the management seat fees depend upon the branch. You have various scholarships here the most popular being the MRD scholarship which assures a 50 percent tuition fee waiver. The college also does assist financially incapable students. The job opportunities are diverse as many companies approached on-campus placements and the average package is of 9 lakhs.
Campus Life
We have an annual cultural fest named Aatma Trisha and an annual tech fest. These fests are held in a very grand manner. There are several clubs in various categories and a student can choose according to one's interest all of the clubs help and guide a fresher in a very good way. The campus is not so huge but big enough for you to chill and hang out with your friends. The sports facilities have been improvised over the period and now they are in a decent amount but very soon they'll be upgraded in this academic year.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is ok types. You have single, double, and triple sharing rooms with attached bathrooms and common bathrooms depending upon your choice. The meal also depends on the mess that you get there are 3 mess in total one of them has the best food just like our home food, one is ok types and another is not at all fruitful.
