Remarks

An admission portal was curated by DU (link available on their website). We were supposed to register to create our accounts on the portal. Then as per the cutoffs, we were supposed to apply to different colleges and upload relevant documents. With the introduction of NEP, the admission process has changed. CUET has been introduced for admission to DU.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose this course because of the growing job opportunities in Data Science. Statistics are required everywhere. It is an undying field. The faculty is decent. All teachers have PhDs but not every teacher teaches well. I can't speak for other courses but statistics is a difficult course and it was difficult to pass offline exams. There are too many internal and practical exams that are closely packed.

Internships Opportunities

3

Big four companies recruit from KMC. The position offered in my course is that of a data analyst. To be honest in most courses like mathematics Hons, economics Hons, and statistics hons- most jobs are for data analysts only. Internship opportunities range from 1-10k per month offering positions like social media marketing, data analysis, something with excel, etc.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement cell of KMC is very active. You get internship opportunities pretty much every day. Big four companies hire from KMC as well. Everything is well organized by the placement cell and you'll be assisted very well. On average, placements range from 6-8LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

Studying at DU is cheaper than at private universities. Value for money. You don't have to pay a lot and you enjoy the prestige. My course fees were about 15k per year. This is cheaper compared to private universities which cost over 1L per semester.

Campus Life

3

Having spent the first semester online, I am unaware of the annual fests of DU as of now. Societies in KMC are very active. KMC is known for its co-curricular activities so if you're an ECA student, the college might be a good fit for you. The infrastructure is not great. Computers in labs are broken or not working which poses a problem during practical's. Teachers are forced to take classes online.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum consists of relatable topics and interesting ones as well this is what quite influenced me to take this course. We have labs which help us learn how to prepare various organic compounds which are used in many day to day products . The course also has a 4th year research program. There should be more equipments in lab for the research. The frequency is good for exams being conducted and there level is also quite good

The students become eligible for the placements provided by the college in their 3rd year, while they can pursue internship offered by the college in previous years. Average sized companies visited the campus with lots of students being placed for jobs. The highest package I am not aware of but lowest was of around 300000 pa. I plan to pursue masters after my graduation degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
