Remarks

The B.Tech CSE course is a 4 yr course. The admission of the college takes place in 2 ways. One is by applying through WBJEE/JEE MAINS scorecard and another by giving a simple test from the college itself. Reservation is implicitly applied through WBJEE/JEE ranks while applying with it.

Course Curriculum Overview

B.Tech CSE is one of the courses which is in the bloom in today's modern world and in huge demand so opting for the course is a good choice. The student: teacher ratio is almost 80-90:1 which is a bit high but manageable. Most of the faculty are quite well versed in their subject and highly qualified. The teachers are quite good except for a few which is the case with almost all institutions. The exams are mid-term held at 2/3 months each semester and semester exams in July and December with moderate difficulty.

Internships Opportunities

Eager students get the option to intern from a few companies mostly startups. The stipend offered is good with near about 15k per month and the projects are according to company requirements with most offering permanent selection after successful internship and exam

Placement Experience

From 5th /6th sem in 3rd-year companies start to arrive for placements. Moderate to good companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, and Accenture with avg package from 3.25 LPA to 4lpa is offered. CSE branch almost gets 100% placement with few opting for further studies. Microsoft / Amazon also takes some exceptionally well candidates with around 10 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of 4 yr was 6,32,000 which is a bit high considering local colleges but infrastructure and faculty wise it's quite justified but still a bit high. The internship and job offer from the campus is quite good and is above par with the rest of the colleges of the same calibre

Campus Life

The annual fest Sahotsava is held during winter and the tech fest in the month around April/May and they are quite a grandeur. The library is huge with collections and all semester-required books are given away from the library itself. The classrooms are fully air-conditioned with projectors available in a few classes and sports extracurricular activities are quite happening with the clubs involved

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
