Remarks
The admission process takes place after you clear the JEE mains exam. Then you'll be required to sit through the JOSSA counseling process through which college seats are allotted according to your rank. The counseling process takes place in a number of rounds and you can fill in the preferences of your college and the branch that interests you only at the start of counseling but in CSAB round or the special round gives you the chance to refill the preferences.
Course Curriculum Overview
My branch is chemical engineering I chose this as it was the best option around my rank and also my seniors told me that it would be very chill as compared to other branches which give me the time to prepare for anything that I want to do. The faculty is highly qualified most of them hold around 5 to 6 PHDs in different fields many of the professors have a number of patents in their name total of 28 patents are in the name of the chemical branch only. The exams are kind of easy if you study alone but the checking can be tough and most of the questions that are in the exam are those that professors already explained in the class.
Internships Opportunities
Internship offer starts come at the start of the third year and is mostly for non-core roles which require you to learn different programming languages if you get an internship you will get an average stipend of 50000 for 8 weeks at the end of your third year. Projects also play an important role in getting an internship opportunity which you perform under any professor.
Placement Experience
Campus Placement of college is quite good. College offers the student to take part in the Placement cycle which offers almost everyone with a Placement offer of atleast 8lpa. The companies on the non core side offers much higher package but the core companies are also improving in that front
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of the college are on the higher side as compared to any other NITs of the same stature as VNIT this is mostly because the city of Nagpur is quite expensive. There are many scholarship programs available to reduce the tuition fees like if your family income is less then 1 LPA then you can claim full fee remission and if your family income is between 1LPA and 5LPA and 2/3 of the tuition fee is remission. College also provides a campus internship offer at the end of the 3rd year of the course which helps in the financial state.
Campus Life
The campus is big at first I was lost a few times while exploring the campus. It has all the basic requirements checked. It has a very nice building for the library which has almost every book that you will ever need in your college life but the number of those books is somehow less than enough as it sometimes is unavailable. The classroom is also in the new building CRC with all the new tech you may expect but this new building is only for the first years as you pass to the second year of college life they are then held in your respective department and the department classrooms are not as good as in the CRC but the chemical department building new as compared to other departments. College life in VNIT is exciting as it conducts central India's biggest fest Aarohi due to the pandemic it is not been that active but it is still huge. If technical fest is to be considered VNIT has the Axis which has a large footfall. There are many clubs also you can join them according to your interests.
