Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is nicely designed and well structured to keenly implement the outcomes of courses. Faculty members are highly educated and well-trained and are also quite involved in research with students. I chose this particular course as I had a good interest in mechanical engineering and also the college was able to provide ample opportunities in this particular field. College is able to bring good companies for placements. Faculty to student ratio is 1:20 (counting only full-time faculty) excluding part-time faculty. Every faculty is required to have a PhD MTech BTech in the specified courses. Additionally for Professor 10 years of experience and 6 research papers published are a must, for an associate professor 8 years of experience and 6 research papers are a must, for an Assistant Professor these are not required. The teaching methodology is completely dependent on the professor. Exams are held as per the Academic calendar and no delay occurs.

Placement Experience
Placements at PEC are quite satisfactory. Students usually start getting internship offers from the fifth semester and placement offers from the final/pre-final semester. Every year roughly around 150 to 180 companies visit PEC and give around 600 offers out of which 400 to 450 Offers are grabbed by the students. Some of the companies visiting are Sapient, JP Morgan, Indiabulls, Godrej and DE Shaw & Co, Microsoft, Arcesium, American Express, Deloitte, TCS, EXL, ZS Associates, QCI, Goldman Sachs, etc. The highest package is around 64.5 LPA by apple and the average package is 10.83 LPA. Profiles offered are Core, software, analytics, consulting, education, start-ups, finance etc. Almost 70% of students are placed every year ie 480 to 500 out of 700 are placed. My plan after the degree would be to go for a Masters's degree.

Campus life at PEC is very good. Social life is great as people here are quite open and broad-minded, and seniors are also quite involved and helpful. There are more than 20 active clubs and cells run by the students. The infrastructure at PEC is nicely built and well maintained, high-quality labs are available and also a very good library is there. Annual fest and tech fest - PEC FEST conducted in the month of November. In the Library, most of the books and journals required are easily available, and more than 1.5 lakhs volumes are available. Although Library is small compared to that of an IIT. Classrooms are of sufficient size and have a capacity of 120 to 140 students. Classroom equipped with smart boards and a projector. Wi-Fi connectivity in every classroom is available and is also equipped with air conditioners. Most of the sports are available here and extracurricular activities such as summits, surveys, and street play are held here. Every club or social group here is run by the students.
Hostel Facilities
There are 4 hostels for boys named Shivalik, Aravalli, Himalaya, and Kurukshetra and 2 hostels for girls named as Vindhya and Kalpana Chawla. All of these hostels are built nicely, well maintained, and ventilated except Aravalli as it is the oldest of all. Facilities such as room cleaning are provided, the floor is moped daily, bathrooms are cleaned daily, 24/7 wifi connectivity is provided, and filtered water is provided. The quality of mess food is up to the mark, a proper nutritious diet is given on all days, and the menu is different for each day. The registration process for hostels is quite simple if you are a student from another state you just have to opt yes for hostels during the admission process and if you are from the Chandigarh quota you need to have permission from the Dean of student affairs. Then you can simply go to the hostel and fill up the documentation. Hostel fees are around Rs.70,000 per year and the mess fee is 3000 to 3500 per month.
