Remarks
The minimum eligibility for taking admission to this college for a bachelor's degree in a technical field is that the student must have passed intermediate with a satisfactory percentage. Also, one has to appear for and clear the JEE Mains exam conducted for admissions to engineering colleges all over India. I cleared JEE Mains and applied for counselling conducted by central authorities such as JOSAA and CSAB. Based on the percentile and rank achieved in the examination, the student is allotted a branch in a government college. The JOSAA counselling also keeps into account the reservations for caste and home state quotas. However, CSAB counselling is conducted purely on a merit basis and no reservation quota is taken into account while providing college allotments. I would personally recommend going for JOSAA counselling first as it gives a student the maximum benefits while taking admissions in a college on the other hand CSAB provides an opportunity to those who didn't get any college JOSAA
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose mechanical engineering after a bit of research on the college I was getting placed into. Different colleges have different courses running at the top of other courses due to the high placement and career opportunities in the upcoming future. Also, while researching this college I found out that the faculty of mechanical engineering is the most qualified and experienced in the industry. Although other course faculties are also well experienced the faculties in the mechanical department are highly professional and they know what students are going to have to deal with in the upcoming future in the industry. All the faculties in this college are Ph.D. scholars from renowned universities with a high level of industry experience along with extraordinary teaching skills
Placement Experience
The college provides a decent chance for getting campus placements. This college has a dedicated training and placement cell to make sure that the students receive maximum training and are well prepared to face the hardcore interview for placement in multinational companies. Approximately 70% of all the students studying in this college receive campus placement and the rest receive off-campus placements with handsome packages.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college is a government-funded technical institute that has a very cost-effective fee structure. The hostel fee is the most cost-effective of all, being only 3500 per semester. Other engineering colleges have fee structures comprising lakhs of rupees per year. But this college provides the maximum facilities to its students without charging any extra charge from them like other colleges (mostly private). Also, due to this college being a government-recognized and AICTE-approved institution, it is very easy to apply for and get any type of scholarship. I recommend the meri-cum-means scholarship provided by the national scholarship portal because it provides semester fees along with hostel expenditures. I have been availing of this scholarship since the first year and I only have to pay the mess fee while the rest of the college expenses get managed with the scholarship amount I receive each semester.
Campus Life
The campus of this college is very large having 450 acres of campus area and a lush green environment. It makes it very easy to organize any type of event for the college. Every event is organized in the college itself. The most renowned events of this college are tech fest (a technical event conducted once a year) and madhuram (a large-scale cultural fest conducted once each year). There are multiple grounds and stadiums along with an open gym and badminton court in every hostel. Also, there is a student activity center that facilitates and supports every type of sports event taking place in the college.
Hostel Facilities
The hotel facility provided by the college is very good. The hostels are situated on the campus of the college itself making it very easy for the students to make their way to morning classes. Also, each hostel is built with a sufficiently large area having badminton courts and a sports room along with a TV room and table tennis room. There is a separate mess facility in each hostel and there are a total of ten boys' hostels and three girls' hostels. The quality of mess food is decent and the charges for the mess are quite reasonable.
Other Applied Colleges
Techno India University | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)
Because it was not a government college and hence there would be less opportunities as compared to a government funded institute like the one I am presently studying in.
